Ambassador YAMANOUCHI Kanji visited the @csa_asc and had a meeting with President @lisacampbellasc. Thank you for the warm welcome and great tour of the centre! It was nice to discuss ongoing and future space cooperation between 🇯🇵 and 🇨🇦.
For the first time EVER, the #Cygnus vehicle was released by the #Canadarm2 via ground control. Best part? The command was sent from here at @csa_asc by @ROBO_Birchnall! Great work team!

#DYK that the original Canadarm was operated by astronauts on the @NASA Space Shuttle, #Canadarm2 on the @Space_Station is largely operated by mission control centres in the US & Canada, and that #Canadarm3 on the Lunar Gateway will operate autonomously, controlled from Canada?
Another successful spacewalk with an astronaut riding #Canadarm2. Our joint CSA/NASA team designs the trajectories, writes the procedures and helps the astronauts execute them. Want to join us? Now hiring 👉 https://t.co/QklBKcrKRr @csa_asc
Does this look like your dream office? Do you want to be part of a joint NASA/CSA team who operates high-flying 🇨🇦 space robots #Canadarm2 and #Dextre?
The CSA is looking for the next Robotics Flight Controller (#ROBO)! 👉 https://t.co/lwZ8qouCMD. #GCJobs
The HTV-8 Japanese cargo craft was released from station at 12:21pm CT, flying 261 miles over the Pacific Ocean just west off the coast of California. https://t.co/cBNqC61h27
Gone but not forgotten! Watching the HTV cargo ship depart @Space_Station today and remembering the complex dance of the robotic arm that marked the beginning of its stay. The batteries being removed were later installed by us on spacewalks—can’t beat that for teamwork!
The other part of the #HTV8 Install was done by the @Space_Station Capture & Berthing Mechanism, which was operated by @NASA_Johnson ground controllers led by OSOMECH @sofiaghouse performing her first vehicle install!
Installed @JAXA_en 's #HTV8 to the ISS from @NASA_Johnson MCC using #Canadarm2 this morning! Tomorrow we start external Cargo ops, swapping Battery Pallets in prep for upcoming EVAs.
Happy with a successful start to the #HTV8 mission; Install and pallet swap done. #Canadarm2 is on its way to support the battery replacement EVAs and I am on my way home...
#ROBOLIFE
#HTV7 pallet insertion into #HTV8 complete! @ROBO_Birchnall was supporting as MSS Systems from @csa_asc while MSSTask and I were at @NASA_Johnson. Go team!
The old Exposed Pallet from #HTV7 is currently being inserted into the #HTV8 vehicle! Ops are being supported from here in Canada @csa_asc by @ROBO_Birchnall while we get to watch the fun on the big boards!
Now captured, ground controllers will send commands to begin the robotic installation of @JAXA_en's cargo spacecraft to the @Space_Station. Watch: https://t.co/ZuxLDtRxxM. Ask questions using #AskNASA

Five spaceships are now attached to the @Space_Station, including a Japanese cargo spacecraft that arrived today to deliver four tons of hardware. Ground controllers successfully installed the spacecraft to our orbiting laboratory at 10:09am ET. Details: https://t.co/j5HerwYN3a
Maple cookies for @Tungsten_Flight and the rest of the @NASA_Johnson Flight Control team and my HTV jacket. Packed and ready for this Mission!
#HTV8#ROBOLIFE
#HTV8 is up! I'll be headed to @NASA_Johnson to join @Tungsten_Flight in the MCC and work the Capture by @Astro_Christina and @AstroDrewMorgan and then install HTV to #ISS with my ground team.
Watching the @JAXA_en#HTV8 launch in the Robotics control room @csa_asc. If you look closely in the right side of photo the lead #ROBO for robotics operations @ROBO_Seagram is watching intensely. The vehicle is on its way to @Space_Station !
