My girlfriend once told me something during an argument that I never forgot.
She said, “You always tell me to talk to you when something hurts me, but whenever I do, you defend your intentions instead of trying to understand why I was hurt.”
“You don’t have to agree with every feeling I have. But you should care enough to acknowledge it. Your intentions may explain why you did something, but they don’t erase the impact it had on me.”
Then she said something that stayed with me:
Most people do not sabotage you with open hate, they sabotage you with soft influence. Jokes that weaken your standards, advice that slows your momentum, concern that disguises envy. Watch who gets uncomfortable when you improve. Keep your plans quiet, keep your habits strict, and let distance protect your future.
When in a relationship understand that you were both raised differently, which means you love differently, react differently & communicate differently, the important part is that you both respect eachothers differences & try to understand where one another is coming from.
You cannot rush life. Things happen when they are supposed to. Your role is to show up every day and give it your best. Your best won’t be the same every day. Some days you’ll feel motivated, and others you’ll feel defeated—and that’s life. Keep going.
Make peace with fact that some of your friends will level up , some will soon feel like they’re “above your league” & treat you as such .
Release & let them ❤️, love them from a distance if need be , ke life ntwana , learn to adjust 👌🏽
Apologize when you're wrong. You're too young to be losing genuine people because of pride. Stop thinking everyone is replaceable, and stop searching for quotes to defend your stupidity.
You can easily decide to be a good guy, this costs nothing. But for some reason majority of fellow humans have this idea that being mean holds some significant value in society, I do not understand.
