After seeing repeated cases of CRUELTY towards dogs and towards burning of cats alive,
What is mumbai police doing good for animal welfare or environment? No stray animal protection?
@CPMumbaiPolice@elonmusk ur twitter is good, but we fail to protect welfare here . So fumble
We requested CCTV footage from Building No. 21, Manish Nagar (under D.N. Nagar Police Station jurisdiction) regarding 3 missing community cats.
We were told by officer, Gaurav Gulab, that “police cannot take CCTV footage” and “police has no permission.”

#WATCH | Chandigarh: On a man throwing a live puppy into a burning tandoor outside a dhaba ultimately leading to its death, Chandigarh DSP P. Abhinandan says, "We had registered an FIR under Section 11(1)(l) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 325 of BNS regarding this, on 16th May. We were conducting an investigation. The incident occurred in Bapu Dham. We were cross-checking the local Intelligence in Bapu Dham as well as CCTV for electronic Intelligence...We have arrested a man, Niraj alias Bhola. He is a resident of Phase 2 Bapu Dham and has a previous criminal background. Upon questioning, he told us that when he was returning home that night, the mother dog started barking at him. So, he got annoyed and did this."
If Mumbai Police took strict action like other states, we wouldn't see NGOs taking law into their own hands.
Lack of police action is causing MORE animal cruelty and MORE trouble on streets.
Kumar used a stick. Trespassed our society. Entered a toilet. Killed a cat. Walks free today.
Authorities need to step up NOW.

A shop sweeper entered our building trespassing it, then hit a cat with a wooden stick, and the cat died after 5 hours.
DN Nagar Police still refused to take serious action.
Tomorrow it will be another cat. Then someone’s pet. Cruel people become fearless when police stay silent in DN nagar police station
We were born here same building by birth. We are asking for justice, not protection for abusers.
Why hate us ? So badly ?
Section 325 BNS and the PCA Act clearly punish animal cruelty.
Ignoring cruelty is supporting it.

@mumbaifoun
@ChazSaldanha Have to follow the rules of law, not street confrontations. Oh yes, there are other community animals on the premises, holding abusers accountable is exactly how we keep the rest safe.
@CPMumbaiPolice@MumbaiPolice
DN Nagar Police refused to act even after repeated complaints of cruelty towards cats.
This silence will encourage more + more violence.
More cats will be beaten / Burned / killed / More cruelty will grow because abusers now believe nobody will stop them.
We want to prevent cruelty.
But DN Nagar Police ignored the PCA Act and Section 325 BNS.
It is understandable why seeing a post from the Mumbai Police highlighting a cat feels discouraging while the actual report of animal cruelty at the DN Nagar Police Station remains unregistered.
@MumbaiPolice@CPMumbaiPolice
While it’s heartening to see a cat in your "throwback" videos, real-life animal cruelty cases need more than social media sympathy. I have reported a serious incident at DN Nagar Police Station, yet no FIR has been registered. I urge for actual enforcement of animal protection laws in Andheri West. We need action, not just posts.
