“It appears that the consensus of my colleagues is that I no longer serve as chair…
I do not want to be a distraction to the work of the district.”
After being unanimously appointed to the roll twice, Stephanie Rizzi resigns her role as chair.

@TwoForFooz It was also in line with RPS policy. They changed that policy now but are mad she followed policy in the first place. This has been a real “no good deed goes unpunished” season for Rizzi.
Fact Check 🧵
Dawn Page says Chair Rizzi has not updated the Board about the details of the City/School Board’s Arthur Ashe negotiations.
The compromise the Board is to approve tonight comes as a complete surprise, especially the part where the city pays off back taxes for…
@TwoForFooz Jonathan Young. He was accused of misconduct with an RPS student. A third party investigator found he was basically weird but innocent. RPS lawyers advised the chair to keep the matter quiet while it was being investigated, the Board thinks she was keeping secrets from them.
@TwoForFooz They also cannot dissolve the LLC while its got $700,000 in debt, so this negotiation wipes out that debt, dissolves the LLC, and makes the warehouse an rps property like any other so that they can get to work on renovations.
@TwoForFooz Good question! This is a special case. Schools don’t usually pay property taxes at all.
The school board owned the warehouse through an LLC, and LLCs are not exempt from property tax. I think it was just a function of how the donation was received but it’s been a while.
The Board’s “my confusion/unpreparedness is your fault” mindset is usually reserved for the administration, maligning their work and recommendations.
Chair Rizzi is only the target now bc the Board turned on her for her role in the JY investigation.
They have characterized all this as a failing of their sneaky, disorganized, and/or uncommunicative Chairwoman.
All the evidence above suggests they’re wrong, but nobody bothers to defend Rizzi or apologize for the insinuations.
In a bizarre twist, only SHM admits she’s wrong.
