The problem isn’t that they’re using elements of other cultures, it’s that it’s literally orientalist and doesn’t depict an actual culture authentically nor does it respect it. It’s boiling down a culture into a sexualized aesthetic. And there’s nothing wrong with criticizing it
@freekwaffle “Starting beef with love live” acting like Chika Takami is a real high school girl getting attacked
I promise the men that designed that 7 years ago dgaf what we think either way
@memicchu Next movie is coming out next year which might be the end of the anime side of Niji but the following year is the 10th anniversary so I feel like they would keep going at least until then
@rajawtheflatass In MY opinion I would still put Horizons in the same tier as SM, XYZ, and DP🤷♂️ like be fr Pokemon has never had consistently *amazing* story telling anyway even the best series had arcs and episode runs that dragged and missed potential with characters
@rajawtheflatass 😭😭
(I respect your opinion obviously)
But regardless of the problems with the time skip I still feel like it’s alright overall(…?)
Like I’m sorry if Journeys attempted to do the same plot line it would have FLOPPED at least horizons has a semblance of an overarching story
@AlexSlider44@rajawtheflatass Oh yeah for sure like we’re over the laqua stuff if they’re gonna drag it 😭😭
I hope we got a horizons tournament league arc somehow (and Roy gets dragged 😌)
@MizukiAlola Ok period I don’t disagree with this
I think it’s weird that like when the plot happens it’s lowkey so rushed but the in between is so dragged 😭😭😭
@GodmasterBun Liko is almost always the centre in the openings and endings and she has the most focus in the Laqua plotline (which is literally the main plot). The series literally started with her and what started the adventure post-timeskip is Roy convincing her to go with him.
