@vicgoddard In utter disbelief ๐ฑ The hugely positive impact you've had on your pupils, families and community - aswell as the countless educators who you continue to inspire - is incredible and far reaching.
Education needs more Vic Goddards. Keep fighting the good fight.

@MrRodgersHOD Great to hear from you!
I'll let you know, so many tough decisions though I'm still undecided on a few ๐ญ
Warrington is looking likely... Are you?
We've still not caught up properly - life, eh! Hope all's well mate!
I love Skellig by @davidjalmond - I read it every year with my Year 6's. Today, for the first time, it got a round of applause ๐ What a way to end the half term! Might just start my half term with some '27 and 53'. Food of the gods... ๐ชฝ
@adamboxer1 It highlights details we overlook - or assume we do consistently. Maybe some do & maybe itโs the curse of knowledge. But, if most donโt land on the โobviousโ answer, then we probably can't/donโt articulate the value of certain granular details well enough. Great qu & discussion๐๐ป
๐ฅ what a line up! I was sorry to miss your presentation at NLA, Katherine, but it was such a joy to be present at Janella's keynote for primary colleagues - her passion was infectious!
Janella and I are on our way to Liverpool to speak to teachers and leaders in the Northern Schools Trust!
Will be great to meet some interesting and interested folk! ๐
If we agree teaching is about best bets and when we get it right for the most vulnerable, we get it right for all, surely we have to think hard(er) about attention cueing. This is really important stuff. The implications for teaching & learning are far-reaching & really exciting!
Pssst! If you're looking for a consistent, research-informed approach to raising standards in English and improving outcomes for all pupils in reading and writing, then it has to be @LiteracyCounts1 ๐๐ฅ...pass it on!

๐ฅ A stark reminder that, as educators, we have a responsibility to enrich young lives beyond the classroom. We must ensure that a wealth of experiences and opportunities are there to develop the talents and interests of *all* our pupils. This shouldn't be left to chance.
@stoneman_claire I thought it was a brilliant read and an excellent retort to the ignorance that that type of elitist attitude so often stems from. It can be so damaging. Thanks for writing!
๐งต Weโve all heard it: the more you know, the easier it is to learn. But a recent experimental study puts that claim to the test and the results arenโt what youโd expect. https://t.co/8h6XV4eK0x
This is so important. Reading to your child is an interactive, responsive process: pointing out key words, spellings, images and deeper meaning. Also the sound of a parent's voice, their enthusiasm, their dedication, their passion for narrative and the written word means absolutely everything.
The people who understand what behaviour is like in challenging classroom are people in that classroom. This is the difference between domain elites and domain experts.
