Apa que no molen les lamines que m’ha enviat @hruizmartin i @ISTFoundation per fer metacognició amb els nois i noies de sisè. Els explota el cap quan aprenen com aprenem 🤯
Finished 'The writing book' by @ZoeParamour and Timothy Paramour. So clearly written and inspiring that, as it often happens when I read a great book, I now want to start using all I have learnt, and use it all within next week. I won't do that, but it's such a great feeling.
@TeacherInTrain I know WTS and SEND are not the same thing, but 100% of the children WTS in my class last year were born between June and September. It was a shock to me. Made me think there is something not right about using this assessment labels
@TeacherInTrain October, year 4. I found that 'And' and 'But' were used too often as a sentence starter. I pointed that out, and explained that it was not correct, though the children started pulling out examples from texts we were reading 😂. So I had to change my teaching, given the evidence.
@TeacherInTrain@mpershan@AndrewWatsonTTB Could I ask what do you use to set up retrieval practice online. We do a multiple choice weekly quizz, which children love, though I sometimes question its impact.
@TeacherInTrain Carry on researching, talk to colleagues, try what you think might work. It's not possible to become an expert on everything, let alone in such short period of time.
Curriculum coherence across the key stages:
A look at geography
When we’re considering coherence across the key stages, it’s helpful to know about the content and approaches that are being taught in different phases.

@TeacherInTrain I am genuinely interested in developing my skills and knowledge as a teacher. However, my ECT programme is too similar to my PGCE year. Feels repetitive and really superficial. I would rather meet once a month(maybe topic based), to share and discuss experiences with other ECTs.
@rebeccapsych101 @PrimaryHT_Mum 33 too old?? We live in a different planet. You are not even half way through your working years. Plenty of time to become a HT.
@tombennett71@AnnaWil58054288 I know of at least one case in my class, for whom consequences in line with school policy have no positive effect on him. I know, maybe is the exception to the rule, but I have the feeling there might be more exceptions out there.
@Oldmanteacher1 I can move to other parts of the country, but the children in the SE need teachers. In fact, considering how dense it is, I presume more teachers are employed in the SE than in any other part of the country.
I am a 40s primary ECT who changed careers. I live in the SE of England. Luckily, I have a partner, otherwise, I would't be able to afford renting a 1B flat in my area. HOW'S THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? How can we accept these conditions for those in charge of our children's education.
@Mrs_Courtney_92@MrTs_NQTs Visit schools, talk to people, look at their website. You should be allowed even during school hours, it's your future. I had full support from my mentor, who made it clear it was a priority to find the right place. Once you have all the info, follow your instinct. Good luck.
