@Rachel@Restless_Uganda’s Co-Lead speaking at the launch of the National Youth Manifesto 2021-26. We hope political parties will take up the recommendations of young people of Uganda in their manifestos!
“Youth-led movements and organizations have been at the forefront of responding to the COVID crisis - but that powerful contribution is not reflected in decision-making. We need to make room for young people at the policy-making table.” - Joseph, our Young Research reminds us
Bringing diverse voices into the conversation, our partners, donors, and government actors are meditating on what these findings mean for 🇺🇬. But the conversation doesn’t end in this room. A strong #YouthCivilSociety depends on our continued action. What’s next?
Our #YouthLedResearch shows the power of youth leadership to respond to COVID-19 and the resilience of global youth movements to leverage momentum on shared priorities. We will face more crises. What more can we do to strengthen #YouthCivilSociety to lead us in the future?
So pleased to hear that our partners are as committed to the call to action our young researchers have shared as we at @Restless_Uganda are! We can not strengthen #YouthCivilSociety alone. We must come together - CSOs, donors, & gov - to build back better.
@DGFUganda17 remains committed to supporting young people & youth-led CSOs, & to also help bring in a youth perspective among our other partners. - The Head of Facility Nicole Bjerler has said at the launch and dissemination of the #YouthCivilSociety report. @Restless_Uganda

What you missed over the weekend: We set up a research ethics marketplace around 3 spotlight sessions—ethics 101, informed consent and safeguarding in research. All part of our commitment to ensure that our #YouthLedResearch respects and protects our respondents!
We've asked young people:
- how they are getting by;
- what constrains their business expansion;
- how they succeed in the hospitality sector; and
- what they need to design and use agritech.
What will this cohort add to our growing evidence base on young people's living?
