Teriyaki was a cooking a cooking method&sauce that goes back to the Edo period. Though what he is talking about is American/western version. Which is a syrupy version of original Teriyaki sauce that is sold in many stores today and used in so called authentic Japanese joints.

Teriyaki was invented in Seattle by a Japanese immigrant named Toshihiro Kasahara in 1976. It was quite literally a hole in the wall on Lower Queen Anne.
(We're talking the dish not the sauce)
And the venture was kind of a failure until a positive restaurant review by the Seattle Times caused the restaurant to become an overnight sensation.

It's no mystery why Seattlites flocked to Toshi's Teriyaki. For $1.85, you'd get a meal of chicken or beef teriyaki with sides of CalRose rice and a salad.
A quick lunchtime meal that was really a sort of comfort food. It was nothing fancy but an absolute change of pace from your normal routine.
There are probably hundreds teriyaki restaurants in Seattle now and more up and down the West Coast. Like all cuisine you have fusions with Korean influence or traditional Japanese or "American" takes.
That's great!
Teriyaki is a truly AMERICAN ethnic cuisine.

I was in the courtroom for Johnny Somali’s verdict. The second he walked in, his eyes were completely dead and lifeless.

Zero trolling, zero antics toward the press and creators. He wouldn’t even look at us. He knew he was screwed.

And he was so desperate that he lied about still being an ASU student (he already graduated) and tried to say that he missed his family lol.

Sad. Hope harassing Koreans and being a public nuisance was worth the hard labor and prison time. But I hope that the prosecutor appeals because 6 months is not enough. WE WANT THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE!
