Starting in 2028, high school baseball players are going to have the option to swing lighter bats. MUCH lighter bats in some cases.

What are the ramifications for the sport? I've got a lengthy story today in the AJ outlining them, with feedback from a few veteran prep coaches.

School is back in session! Deputies Osborne and Moya joined the Atrisco High School Jaguar Band for their annual March-A-Thon, escorting them through the community as they played upbeat tunes and collected donations.

Today, on National Police Officer Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We pay special tribute to the fallen heroes of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office and the Metropolitan Detention Center. Their service, courage, and dedication to our community will never be forgotten.

We carry their memory with us every day.
