The French students at Smith celebrated "la fête de St. Nicolas'" on December 6th.  They each brought in a shoe and had their "secret" Saint Nicolas fill it with treats.  Everyone had a cultural experience! @RSDWorldLang

6th graders are using Mr.Potato Head to learn about body parts in Spanish class! They built their own Mr. Potato Heads, uploaded pictures of them to Padlet, and then wrote descriptions about them in Spanish :)

The 7th grade French students at Smith celebrated  "Jour de l'Epiphanie" on January 6th and each class crowned a King/Queen for the day.  We added to this excitement as each student received a handwritten letter from their penpals in France!

Today, I challenged 6th graders to see how long they could speak ONLY Spanish for! I set a timer and they went 12 minutes, having great conversations describing elements of Día de Muertos, without saying a word in English! So impressed for their first full year of daily Spanish!
