Danson Park is a much loved resource in the borough for families, dog walkers, wildlife lovers and many more. However we would urge the council to reconsider hosting an event immediately next to breeding birds on the lake. This could cause a serious disturbance @LBofBexley
. @LBofBexley can you please advise why your upcoming dinosaurs event in Danson (& funfair with dinosaur sound effects) is to be situated right by the lake in the middle of birds breeding season? The park is massive why set up here (or at this time of year for that matter?)..cont
Butterflies on East Wickham Open Space. Lovely to start to see butterflies, saw at least three varieties but the other two were on the move so couldn't get a picture. @RSPBBexleyGroup#springwatch
We have taken the difficult decision to close the MDZ hide from today to protect our kingfishers and their potential nesting site. The male has dug several nest holes and the female is showing an interest. Once the nest is established we will reopen the hide.

Couldn't get good pictures with my phone, but was really pleased to see 4 greater spotted woodpeckers in this tree this morning on East Wickham Open Space. I first noticed two together in the tree then another 2 flew into the tree from the next one. @RSPBBexleyGroup
The report from our group walk last week at @E17Wetlands is now on our website. Go visit, itβs a fabulous place! #walthamstowwetlands#londonwildlifetrust @WildLondon
