@stuartG666 @ChungTzuW Javelin has long been out of production. I think they fully switched to starburst (javelin with starstreak motor) then starstreak. I don't think there was any real production overlap. I think LMM uses the same motor at starstreak but it would be a stretch to call it an offshoot

@seanleicester1 @AnthonyCon7336 Yea sounds very different I don't think that route really exists outside the RFA then. I certainly haven't seen anything similar for the rest of the merchant navy. (This may exist just isn't very well advertised like a lot of merchant navy options)

From what I remember of the RFA cadets it was basically the same as the civvie side just they had 8 or 10 weeks at Dartmouth first iirc. It was about 3 years split between collage and sea

@FouthTimeLucky As a civvie sailor I'm on about 2k a month with 8 hours a day work plus drills (no more than an hour a day and not even every day) . I have my own cabin with an ensuite. It looks like the RN does about 10-20x as much work for not much more pay and I'm working time on time off.

@whatismoo Everything Marconi touches seems to be the solution to problems that haven't happened yet. This would be a perfect anti drone /loitering munition system. They just didn't know what a loitering munition was at the time

@WSPetty @Artemisapphire @CaseyPtj @EricLevans1 @vinceandpen I'm not 100% sure how it works for deep sea but for the north sea guys they still have to pay tax normally then they claim it back every April. It might depend if it's a UK company paying or a foreign one

@TrentTelenko @Timpressive @fascinatorfun @ThreshedThought Nothing stopping starstreak being used against land targets as well such as light vehicles. Cruise missiles would be nearly impossible I think fast jets are pretty much the limit of the system and even then it was mainly designed for anti helicopter.
