This is a good day for democracy in Minnesota.

We've heard multiple stories like this throughout this election season, and we 😢 tear up a little more every time.
"You can vote now" is our favorite phrase. Let a loved one know.
Your vote is powerful!

Great News! The MN of Appeals overruled a district court judge who was prohibiting folks from Voting who he was sentencing to felony probation. Welcome to all who are planning to vote. #RestoretheVote!
No need to fear, you have the support and force of the law, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State and millions of people behind you.
Use your voice, cast your ballot.

Grateful that both @AGEllison and @MNSecofState, are intervening in the horrific case of a judge (with already a record of reprimand for misconduct in the past) abusing his authority once again. (1/5)
Going live shortly on my Facebook with Sec. of State @MNSteveSimon to discuss how we’re opposing a Mille Lacs County judges interfering with your legal right to vote

This became law on June 1, 2023. Nothing has changed about that.
If you aren't currently incarcerated: you can register to vote, you can cast your ballot, you can even run for office yourself. If your vote didn't matter, they wouldn't try so hard to take it. (4/5)
On Tuesday, Aug. 8 - the first of re-enfranchised people in MN will get to vote in primaries here. People on probation or parole can vote and/or run for office!
Remember, if you're out, you can vote! #FreedomToVote#IfYoureOutYouCanVote
We won an epic battle with the victory of #RestoreTheVoteMN but we still have work to do! We need to make sure folks get registered and are empowered to use their voice! Thank you, @MNSteveSimon for continuing to champion RTV!

This lawsuit is an unsurprising development from a reactionary minority in this country that has the resources to attempt to deny agency and constitutional rights to their neighbors. 5/6
While attacks on democracy are happening in states across the country, Minnesota is showing that there's another path:
Forward, towards the inclusive, multiracial democracy we deserve.
