@univofstandrews There was a Black man who worked at the University, but I think after a long period of sickness, he is no longer here.
I understand he was being singled out by his managers and treated in a very humiliating way for a long time.
The reason why there is so much #racism in the NHS is because there are lots of racists working in it.
Some deeply bitter, apathetic, ignorant people who should move on and let compassionate, decent folks do their jobs.
There's a woman on the #dementia ward who is horribly underweight and needs to eat properly in order to be able to go home.
She didn't like the peas provided with a meal and asked for them to be removed.
The whole plate was taken away and she was left to go hungry.
@BRebisz @ucu@Bristol_UCU During the strikes of 2018, St Andrews was planning to do this until it went to the press; the Principal totally threw the head of HR under the bus by saying it was HR's decision. They eventually backed down, but only because they hate bad press more than anything.
£8.9 bn in unusable PPE via Tory crony contracts
£4.3 bn in fraudulently claimed covid recovery funds written off as unrecoverable by Rishi Sunak
Yet Tories claim they can't afford a few £million to feed hungry school kids
The maths says they just don't want to feed them
The ward doesn't need to do #autism assessments because the 'consultant is really clever and would know if someone is #autistic' after suggesting a multi-disciplinary team assess a lady exhibiting a range of behaviours frequently observed in people with autism.
The current place I'm working is for people with #dementia
This is honestly the last place I would want to send anyone I love (or hate, for that matter) to be looked after.
Well it's been a while: moved home and changed jobs within the space of year.
Decided to move back into #nursing - working in #MentalHealth due to my own being left in tatters in my last job and ... well, I figured I could empathise and provide some compassionate care.
@Mozzer77120790 @Cosmictiger74 It says no such thing. He is describing how survivors have found some people, including children, who drowned in their homes, washed up further away.
@KGuilaine They will not be able to agree with you because that would be an admission of liability or accountability. Even if they can't stand each other they frequently close ranks.
The body-swerving and cognitive dissonance is quite a spectacle.
