We converted a bike into a mobile measuring station which records climate data to analyze thermal comfort and heat stress. It collects the data on the move in order to investigate the effects of the urban climate in detail. #Data2Resilience#ICLEIActionFund#ClimateResilience
The #LCZ-Generator passed 10,000 successful runs (https://t.co/SvziDLkBHm) . Over 1500 individuals contributed training areas (TAs) for a total of 582,934 unique polygons.
To give back to the community, we published the TA dataset: https://t.co/eSOUH243D8 @IAUrbanClimate
We hope this #crowdsourcing dataset will be useful for the community, to continue the development of #LCZ mapping and filtering algorithms for training areas.
Many thanks to all #WUDAPT contributors that compiled this dataset as part of an amazing global team effort.
Today we had our first successful observation campaign for the WATCH-Project. It deals with the water consumption of small children in rising temperatures, and also provides drinking recommendations for this vulnerable group #ClimateAdaptation#DataDriven
After the release of the Sensational Walk in Dortmund, the first walks were carried out. One of them took place with representatives of the Green Party. Despite the rainy weather, the group gathered to examine the urban climate effects on site #Data2Resilience#ICLEIActionFund
Students on a Master's course carried out mobile and stationary climate measurements in Dortmund Scharnhorst this week. This made it possible to investigate spatial differences and differences between sealed and unsealed surfaces. #ClimateResilience#ClimateAdaptation#DataDriven
also check out our new tool "is it hot?" https://t.co/XAxTIQ6Z1q which is inspired by: https://t.co/10qfzXluQ8 developed by @MatLipson and colleagues. To be always up to date whether it's this hot normally.
#weather and #climate records in @bochum_de in 2023.
The hottest year on record since 1912 (12.2 °C compared to 10.4 (1961-1990)) but also the wettest year on record since 1888 with 1141.4 mm of precipitation (compared to 833.4 mm (1961-1990)) @ruhrunibochum
