Abba P. Lerner was Professor of Economics at @RUEcon from 1947 to 1959. When Coase visited us in 2005 he said, "I haven't been in this building [Auditorium Bldg] since I visited my friend Abba Lerner. . . I believe the last time was in 1955."
In 1958, Abba Lerner sketched out a program to address what he called "sellers' inflation", including strategic regulation of prices, taxing windfall gains, and direct stabilization of prices via government buying/selling in specific markets.
