I just met with a group of #ClimateAction leaders from civil society around the world.
In every country, without exception, civil society must be at the table helping to shape policy, and on the ground helping to deliver change.
Policy announcements which increase carbon prices have a negative effect on the stock prices of carbon-intensive firms, demonstrating the importance of #regulation which increases the cost of #carbon.

Had an amazing day yesterday, hopping from one temple to another around Kozhikode with @sruthinlal, tracing their distinct histories (and stories), the transformations of their gods and legends, and simply staring in awe at some of these shrines.

Loving mothers care for their sons at home, who then become accustomed to female care-givers and seek to marry housewives.
Employee women are penalised in the marriage market https://t.co/Di9jWoRd1u superb paper by @diva_dhar@kanmahajan
The current wait time for a US Visitor Visa at the consulate in Mumbai is, and I quote: "999 calendar days".
A de facto barrier to lawful international mobility that is absolute and indiscriminate.

Politically connected firms in India were more likely to access short-term credit (especially bank loans) during demonetization and delay payments to suppliers and creditors. They weathered the crisis better than their peers, with 8-10% higher income, sales, costs over 3 years.
Today, the RBI released the first ever Report on Municipal Finances compiling and analysing budgetary data for 201 municipal corporations across all States. This provides a goldmine of data for researchers interested in subnational fisc and related questions.
Great to hear while @COP27P that our IMF team reached Staff-Level Agreement on support for #Bangladesh, incl. about US$1.3 bn under our new Resilience & Sustainability Trust to help catalyze private #ClimateFinancing & support climate investment needs in 🇧🇩https://t.co/mt0P6H1OGS
