That Silver Star, originally downgraded after his commander was kill*d and the Medal of Honor paperwork lost, is now being formally upgraded to the Medal of Honor. Capers was not only a mustang, he earned a battlefield commission in combat, a rare honor that speaks to the trust his Marines placed in him.

At eighty eight he remains a giant, a warrior who carried his team through hell and set the standard every Recon Marine still measures himself against.

I wish we had finished them. We’re going to need to do it someday – this was kicking the can down the road.

That said, it appears to me that Donald Trump accurately read that the American people are not willing to do what it takes to finish them. Instead, they think we’ve beaten them up enough, and now it’s time to move on to other things. They don’t consider that a humiliation. They consider that common sense.

SecWar Hegseth arrived at NATO last night, and told Europe that they better start building their own militaries, because moving forward, we are no longer going to be responsible for their defense.

Sounds like we are preparing to eventually leave NATO.

It sounds like the plan is to ween Europe off of our protection. The days of the US taxpayer subsidizing Europe’s defense, are coming to a close.

This also tells me that Trump and Putin already have an agreement of some sort in place. Both Trump and Putin know that the EU tried to drag the US into direct war with Russia, so the US MIL would fight Russia for them. This is what they wanted.

We can never let them put us in that situation again. We must eventually leave NATO, and consolidate our military presence in the Western Hemisphere. Europe will be on their own.
