Pilgrims has one of the best hooks in the first 2 pages of prologue than I've seen anywhere else and it's in delightful contrast to it's rather sparse blurbs and back cover summary. This is how you hook readers. Take notes. Too much boring slop getting a pass lately.

As far as endings go, @thelindsayellis took a daring approach to end her #ApostlesofMercy with probably the most interesting open-ended situation possible. After 3 books, I'm still unsure there's any good guys and that's what makes it so believable and relatable. Bra-fucking-vo!

Here's a tip from a judge for @ReedsyPrompts: Don't treat prompts like a school report with an objective to fill. Use prompts as a way to emphasize or enhance a story you already have. Yes, the prompt says use lots of descriptions, but that shouldn't be the WHOLE story w/ bs plot

There needs to be more room in literature for people to be uncomfortable. You're not supposed to like everything a character says or does and conflict is necessary to prove a point. If you WEREN'T uncomfortable, that might've said more about you than the character or author.
