After Sanders, there's a host of other names in need of a new deal that, per the league CBA, will have to leave for greener pastures. What will the Browns do?
The @RZ_DawgPound will have some serious decisions to make this off-season. Clearly, Carson Schwesinger is getting a new deal 1st. He's the undisputed heartbeat of the Brown's defense. And if the front office holds true to their word, then Shedeur will be next.
Jayden Daniels returned to Summerfield, MD for the 1st time in an opposing jersey. The PIT QB was clearly on a mission to prove the team that gave up on him that they made a huge mistake. JD was 11-of-23 for 223yds, 2TDs, 0INTs with a 111.3 QB rating. @RZSteelers improve to 4-1.
Coach Sampson answered just 1 question at this season's exit presser, and I was granted the privilege to ask the lone question. Here's how it turned out.
"BP, from 12-5 to 3-14, many would qualify that as the wheels completely falling off. How did you get here and what's next?"
Currently, Gabriel is has a 101.9 QB rating while completing 63% of the passes (132-of-205) he's thrown with 11 TDs to only 2 INTs. He's amassed 1,615 air yds in a run first offense; also adding 101 yds rushing and 3 ground TDs. Some would dare argue these are MVP type numbers.
Speaking of backups, the @RZ_DawgPound will have a tough decision to make, and the time is quickly approaching. Shedeur Sanders is set to make his season debut in week 14 after his 12-game suspension, but Dillon Gabriel is cooking. The Browns are T-3rd best record in the AFC.
It's good to see Coach BluePrint getting back to his roots and having his team running the ball with reckless abandon. The pairing of JaVonte Williams and the @RZ_DawgPound seems like a picture-perfect match. But will Quinshon Judkins be satisfied as a 2nd-option back long-term?
Make no mistake, there's a full-blown QB controversy for the @RZ_DawgPound. Coach BP is very unamused with ARod's celebrity persona in the locker room and on the practice field, especially since the future HoF'er stunk it up in week 1. Dillon G. is expected to get 1st team reps.
4-of-the-5 starting rookie QBs have posted a winning record and look to be the face of their respective franchises for years to come. If they all stay the course, their GMs will have 1 less position to worry about. Good job men.
We're (un)officially at the mid-point of the season. There's been some incredible play from this season's crop of rookie QBs. Initially, the conversation started with 4 - 1st year starters, but surprisingly, a future HoF'er got supplanted by a newbie. So let's go Under the Hood.
The no.1 overall pick Cam Ward has not disappointed. He's led @RzTitans to a 6-2 record (best in the AFC) thru 8 weeks. He's 1st in passing yds (1,942), 2nd in TD passes (12), and 2nd in rushing yds (110) among rookies. Cool under pressure and continues to prove it. I salute U 🫡
Week 6 saw two starting rookie QBs match up for the 1st time this season. Let's take a look.
Steel Will (Pitt):
9/25 (36%), 90yds, 0TDs - 0INTs, 47.1 rating
Shedeur Sanders:
33/45 (73%), 302yds, 1TD - 1INT, 89.7 rating
@RZ_DawgPound defeated the @RZSteelers 16-7
Watching the Seahawks and Jags and right on queue Rookie CB/WR Travis Hunter snatches an INT and gives the ball back to his offense. #MamaThereGoesThatMan
