Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. I’m introducing legislation to ensure that the Smithsonian preserves the propaganda tools that the Trump Administration is using to warp and censor American history in the president’s own authoritarian self-image.
My bill will allow future generations to learn about the president who wielded his powers like a tyrant-king and the Americans who fought back for democracy and freedom. https://t.co/a2eVKJXsdQ
Four weeks from today, the United States will lose its democracy when the current president enacts the Insurrection Act to quash the midterms to prevent unfavourable results.
You think January 6 was bad?
Get your popcorn ready.

Extreme narcissim and hatred don't have to be combined in the same person but that is exactly what we are facing.
Surround him with spineless sycophants and provide him with weapons of mass destruction...the perfect recipe for the end freedom in America.
His vainglorius policies have now jeopardized the world.
We need him and his sympathizers out now.
Time is short.
Vote without fail.
LOTR might genuinely be one of the greatest things humans have ever put on a screen and I’m not even exaggerating. You can watch it as a kid and think it’s about hobbits and swords and this terrifying ring. Then you watch it as an adult and realize it’s basically about everything that actually matters.
Power corrupts people and evil usually starts really small..Good people can be tempted and courage isn’t about being fearless. Friendship can literally carry you when you can’t carry yourself anymore. The smallest person in the room can change the course of history. You do the right thing not because you know you’re going to win, but because it’s the right thing to do.
Honestly… I think it should be mandatory viewing for kids at some point. Not just “watch the movie” but actually dissect it. Why does Boromir fail? Why can Sam resist what other people can’t? Why does Frodo show Gollum mercy? Why is Aragorn a good leader when he spends half the story reluctant to have power? What happens when someone becomes consumed by resentment, fear, or the desire to control other people? Then make kids apply those questions to their own lives. Friendship, temptation, loyalty, courage, responsibility, choosing who you want to be when nobody is forcing you to choose correctly. There are probably more useful lessons about becoming a decent human being buried in those movies than in half the stuff we make kids memorize in school…and those are learnings and lessons that would stick and could carry you through all of life.
My favorite part is that the heroes aren’t these invincible characters either. They’re tired, scared, tempted, and completely outmatched. Half the time they have no idea what they’re doing but they just keep going….
Then somehow Peter Jackson took ALL of THAT and made three epic movies at the same time, filled them with real sets, real landscapes, thousands of extras, incredible music,… and made something that still looks better than movies being made with $200M budgets 25 years later.
I really don’t think we’ll ever get another thing like it.
3 wars: Iraq, Afghanistan, & Iran.
3 tax breaks to the rich: Bush, Trump, Trump
$10 trillion cost to the debt.
All Republican failures.
They have caused the financial mess.
My literally favorite part about this is that the GOP raised a ton of corrupt superpac money from shakedown after shakedown and they are burning it in Texas - like $7 million a day. And Paxton’s numbers are getting worse.
The arc of the moral universe is long. But it bends towards justice.
Musk spent over $290 million to put Trump in the White House.
He’s $640 billion richer today. Not a bad investment.
Now he’s spending up to $200 million to try to keep Republicans in control of Congress.
Our job: Stop Musk. Stop Trump. Elect Progressives. End Citizens United.
Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good.
I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.
Ossoff: They tried to put special needs kids in jail. And then when my investigation brought all this to light, when we held Senate hearings and exposed it all, instead of resigning, or at least leaping into action to fix it, state officials retreated into denial and PR and counterattack. Because foster kids don't have lobbyists or a super PAC.
Neither do the women subjected to medical abuse in ICE detention. Neither do the female inmates sexually abused by the warden and the chaplain in their federal prison. Or the young military family neglected by the defense contractor with a fifty-year lease on privatized housing at Ft. Gordon.
But they deserve leaders who see them and expose those who abuse them. And that’s exactly what I’ll keep doing.
Donald Trump promised to make things cheaper.
Instead, he tariffed everything, started a new war, and pocketed about $2 billion for himself in the process.
He's a liar and a fraud. It really is that simple.
There are three dozen men’s names redacted in this Epstein file. Presumably they were mostly witnesses interviewed. But Richard Kahn is one of the names. So is Leslie Groff. There’s no reason their names should be redacted. Where are the interview notes?

We have a rogue partisan Supreme Court. Using the underhanded emergency docket to give a middle finger to the Constitution, which provides NO ROLE for the executive branch in administering voting and elections. Six lawless partisan hacks enabling distortion of elections. Disgraceful
After initially claiming it was 16K, DHS sent Nevada a list of 185 people it claimed were noncitizens illegally registered to vote, and every single one of them turned out to be a US citizen. DHS certainly isn't too concerned about disenfranchising Americans.
The biggest divide is not between “right” and “left." It’s between democracy and oligarchy.
The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us.
They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power.
Remember this.
Dark of night? What does that have to do with anything? Of course, the administration can appeal, but there’s nothing secret or sinister about a judge deciding an urgent case urgently and posting the ruling on the public docket. Sounds like a judge working diligently for justice. But this AG would rather undermine public confidence in the judiciary.
Something is deeply wrong when Trump’s net worth is skyrocketing but families across the country can’t afford gas, groceries, and health care.
Donald Trump’s culture of open corruption is leaving Americans out to dry while he and his friends get rich.
Fun fact: the U.S. House can sue a sitting president with a simple majority vote.
If the Democrats retake the chamber, they should do more than just "investigate" Trump's corruption.
They should sue him in federal court for the illegal ballroom, Qatari jet, and more.
