@HadarSusskind I agree with your point and your cause. But the "Israeli-American IDF veteran" thing only half works. You are using it to say f*** off to this right-wing American Christian. Fair. But by that logic, doesn't the fact you now live in America mean your opinion should be less valued?
@AJSchonfield So your argument is based on the idea that Soros receives an inordinate amount of abuse - more than others. (So a bit like the fact that Israel is the most heavily criticized country in the world - far more than countries with far worse Human Rights records).
@mstreiffer Tweeting this will spark the inevitable polemical argument with anti-Reform folk that we see here. Really this message needs to be heard by Reform Jews. Not just the reminder of authenticity, but also since many Reform Jews have internalized that Reform = not needing to do stuff.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the 2023 WIZO Commitment Awards, where winners will be invited to visit some of our 800 life-saving projects across Israel!
@RichardJaffa@JewishNewsUK You can look up the trustees on the website. It's a terrible shame to close the museum, but I'm not sure it's helpful to be pointing fingers of blame without knowing what happened. I'd guess that it's struggled since JW3 opened. Most donors get sucked into the new shiny thing.
@D0GYUCK Essentially, just by being who you are, you've landed in the middle of the hottest Twitter war there is. People involved in a political polemic will try to amplify your voice to prove their point. That might suit your goals, but don't be fooled that any of them care about you.
@RutiRegan The screenshot which is most prevalent is from Linkedin. It doesn't "look" photoshopped. With the number of school shootings in America, it was inevitable that sooner or later one would be committed by a trans person. That's just basic law of averages.
a few months ago i wrote about how der sturmer, a pro-nazi paper in 1930s and 40s germany, laid the groundwork for the holocaust by linking every crime to jewish people.
anyhow, here is the front page of rupert murdoch's ny post today.
@MichaelCHilton@RabbiYYS@GaryLineker@BBCBreaking It might not have been a reference to the Shoah. But that certainly isn't clear. I agree with Lineker's right to say what he said, but of course Jews who don't share his politics might find it offensive.
@Erstwhilian@daniellebett @project1enigma In fairness, this isn't an attempt to build a coalition. And the protest is not meant to include non-Israelis. The poster clearly states it's a protest of Israelis. You're right that it excludes halacha-following religious Israelis, but that's probably a choice.
@YairWallach As with any political position, there are legitimate reasons to hold that certain actions should be taken and illegitimate reasons. And yes, motivation does matter in determining whether any particular action or endorsement of action is racist.
@YairWallach Moreover there is a big difference between objecting to the existence of an existing country and objecting to one being formed. People who vote against Catalonian independence are not shouting about driving Catalonians into the sea.
