Nancy Pelosi comments on the Iran War: "Our country is at war. We always root for our country under any circumstance. So let's get this done, Mr. President."
🚨Aid coalition chief: Israel blocks wheelchairs, prosthetics, watermelons, and fresh produce from entering Gaza
Athena Rayburn, executive director of the Association of International Development Agencies, which represents more than 100 humanitarian and development NGOs operating in the occupied Palestinian territory, detailed Israel’s sweeping restrictions on aid during a UN Security Council briefing Wednesday.
🔹Israel rejects scissors, crutches, wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs as “dual-use,” bars medical specialists and restricts engine oil so severely that its price has risen to 45 times normal levels, bringing aid operations to “an absolute breaking point,” Rayburn said.
🔹Israeli authorities have also rejected watermelon and onions under an unpublished “humanitarian policy,” deregistered more than 30 international aid groups and repeatedly moved the supposedly fixed Yellow Line, cutting access to at least 85 water points, schools and health clinics.
“Humanitarian assistance, by its nature, cannot be conditioned,” Rayburn said, noting Israel was shrinking “almost daily” the physical space in Gaza where aid groups can operate.
"Now, suddenly, nobody knows him."

🚨BREAKING — TEXAS ICE DETAINEES ON HUNGER STRIKE TO PROTEST INHUMANE CONDITIONS
Detainees at the Limestone County ICE facility in Groesbeck, TX report deplorable conditions including worm-infested food and systematic denial of basic medical care. In a demonstration of resilience, detainees have begun a hunger strike to protest their mistreatment.
The detention center, located 40 miles east of Waco, was sold by the county to LaSalle Corrections in 2020. Since then, the company has made hundreds of millions every year off the detention and mistreatment of our immigrant neighbors - notorious for committing human rights abuses in its facilities in Louisiana and Texas, and using a vast network of shell companies to avoid accountability.
While working people everywhere continue to struggle to afford rent and healthcare, our government continues to funnel money into the coffers of private prison companies like LaSalle, GEO Group, and CoreCivic.
Stop mass detentions! ICE off our streets!
@mok92433@IHateItMost@ProudSocialist Playing the role of god is essentially what the insurance companies in the US are doing now! So the fat cats can stuff their pockets by denying claims.
It's a barbaric system by almost any measure and that's why no one cares about the CEOs
@DBFL407@Ahz1er@mariolopezviva if there's no exception for instances when feeding children becomes necessary, then the critique of the society still stands!
That society clearly values property rights over the basic needs of children.
and this hunger is taking place in the context of a $1T US military budget
@dygytylace@123kimani@omgsidewalks Workers should be able, if so desired, to afford partaking in the economy (going out dining). But under this system, workers are constantly pushed away from affording even the basic necessities, so that Owners may profit from their low wages
Capitalism works, just not for you/us

According to witnesses, the man was shot in the head three times by police.
The video of the shooting was posted by Richard Hegwood, who lives in the neighborhood, to his Instagram.

🔸BREAKING | The Republican-led House Ways and Means Committee has subpoenaed BreakThrough News for internal communications and financial records as part of an investigation the nonprofit outlet calls a politically motivated attack on independent journalism and the First Amendment.
BreakThrough News says it has not been accused of any crime, receives no funding from foreign governments or institutions, and already complies with nonprofit tax and reporting requirements. The outlet says lawmakers are targeting its coverage of Palestine solidarity, ICE, Cuba and other U.S. foreign policy issues, and has retained legal counsel to fight the subpoena while launching a petition and fundraising campaign.
@MrLoadedBases Capitalism is very lucrative for the capitalists
If this system isn't working for you this generation, it would be very suspect to think it will work for you in a future iteration. This is why moving past an outmoded system becomes more appealing by the day for the majority
Trump has begun bombing Iran again, threatening to destroy the ceasefire and reignite a wider regional conflict.
He claims these renewed strikes are about keeping the Strait of Hormuz open – but that’s far from the full story. 🧵
