Teaching my kid homeschool math like, "If mom folded 4 loads of laundry and has one load in the washer and one load in the dryer, how many loads of laundry will she do?
My kid: 6
Me: Wrong! Trick question. The answer is infinite because laundry never ends.
Moms are like human Zambonis, sweeping through the house and smoothing out the mess after everyone has had their fun, leaving it pristine and ready to be destroyed all over again.
Make no mistake about it literacy is a social justice issue! It’s critical to children’s ability to escape poverty.
“Children whose parents have low literacy levels have a 72 percent chance of being at the lowest reading levels themselves.” - (NBER) #NationalBookLoversDay
Husband: You know, I heard that @Wendys breakfast beat out @McDonalds breakfast last quarter.

There is no "right way" or "perfect solution" to sending our children back to school during a pandemic. We can debate all day, still, in the end, every family has to do what is right for them. But there should be no debate about the fact that TEACHERS ARE HEROES.
Instead of saying “Im so proud of you!”
My Mom would say
“Aren’t you so proud of yourself?!” just as often.
I realized today what a profound mental shift this makes over time, when I accomplished something hard and thought “I’m so proud of myself!”
White folks, please read the replies here and learn from them.
*This isn’t our place to reply.* The ask is specific to Black women.
But since it’s public, we can read and learn.
Let me be clear (a thread):
Those "all over the place" feelings you've been having? They are symptoms of stress, NOT personal failures of yours.
Do you feel FLAKEY + INCONSISTENT? That's b/c your brain doesn't know what news to brace for next, or what next month will hold.
