@jgschraiber I think if you’re specifically looking to do something different in industry than you did for your thesis, it’s appropriate to do a postdoc. I know people who did short postdocs to build on secondary skills from their PhD. I’m guessing it’s easier to switch fields in academia.
@jgschraiber@pleunipennings This was totally me- I loved biology but it wasn’t until I took a class in human evolution and genomics as a senior in undergrad that I realized how much programming/statistics Id need to analyze biological data. Really wish I’d figured that out sooner.
I’m so excited to share that I'm a @STATnews Wunderkind! I’m honored to be among such impressive company. Big thank you to my @AdaptiveBiotech colleagues for your support.
@jgschraiber I’m confused by the type of leak. Leak of an existing strain that was isolated from humans and then subsequently released is plausible. For novel covid19, it would have to have evolved in the lab, or been isolated from an animal that was already close to zoonosis. Is that likely?
Great to be a part of @Microsoft's new Resilience series that explores the role of science and tech in addressing the pandemic. Check out episode 1! https://t.co/Zfg4tgCjSN #SocietalResilience#Got2Adapt
The new Resilience series from our partners @Microsoft explores the role of science and technology in addressing the pandemic & other crises to emerge more resilient into the future. Featuring Adaptive’s @RachelGittelman. https://t.co/UczeETzK6z #SocietalResilience
Over the past year, we’ve seen so many examples of people and organizations using technology to help the world become more resilient. Here are some of their stories. https://t.co/S748ipJHhl
My team at Adaptive is hiring! We're seeking a thoughtful computational biologist to build machine learning models that diagnose diseases from immune repertoire sequencing data.

We’ve received @US_FDA Emergency Use Authorization for T-Detect™ COVID, the first T cell-based test to confirm recent or prior #COVID19 infection, developed in collaboration with @Microsoft: https://t.co/54mBgUEH7h
Today we launched T-Detect™ COVID, the first clinical T cell based test to confirm recent or prior #COVID19 infection. Read more: https://t.co/Ddq9lKyqGn
This use has not been cleared or approved by the FDA.
Great to see our manuscript on T-cell testing vs. antibody testing at @medrxivpreprint. Proud of the team for bringing this real-world data to the forefront of the #COVID19 discussion around the role of T cells as a key indicator of past infection: https://t.co/lBuf43GkcL
