@jacob9292811809@Ortho_Ramatttra@ShamelessPopery@timotheeology@JayDyer@JendersII It is in fact charitable to deal harshly with those who have made themselves enemies of Christ like Elymas did. How do you not see the difference between righteous rebuke of a sorcerer trying to prevent the spread of the gospel & vulgar insults and mockery of a brother in Christ?
@Ortho_Ramatttra@ShamelessPopery@timotheeology@JayDyer@JendersII I can see the rationale of saying "if your career is 'apologist' you have a unique obligation to debate people who want to debate you" but I'd say that precisely b/c that's your career you should be MORE discerning of what and who you choose to engage.
@Ortho_Ramatttra@ShamelessPopery@timotheeology@JayDyer@JendersII Paul advised Christians to avoid arguments they judged to be fruitless & to be gentle. I.e.,
"Have nothing to do with stupid, senseless controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one..." - 2 Tim 2:23-24
@theblessedsalt This makes me sad— I’m young but I have a circulation issue that makes it impossible for me to kneel more than a little at a time, and I sometimes worry about people judging me
@cath_menarion If the intention were to help women’s health instead of “as many breaths as possible,” I would actually be all for this as a woman with endo. Hopefully God brings good research out of this silly endeavor
@Strangeland_Elf The upside is that as a Zillennial I do have a bit more sympathy and understanding for the older generations’ frustrations now that I’ve seen people respond to a totally normal sandwich lunch that it’s “concentration camp food” 😅 I didn’t even realize those people existed
@Christopherus33 Your characterization of Leo is false, but even if it weren’t— yes. Very obviously yes. “I don’t have to listen to the pope when we have a bad pope” is not traditional or Catholic. But also we have a normal pope who will likely relax TC at some point.
@ChrisGeorgeBerg@theblessedsalt@JeffCassman Well yes the Church needs bishops, but why do the SSPX need their own, special bishops? Other priestly societies don’t. Are the sacraments of non-SSPX bishops not valid?
@MattWalshBlog I love seeing “content creators” actually be creators and explore their interests
That said, using an AI image in the thumbnail does kind of undercut that
