Associate Prof at the University of Washington -- I study gender and labor markets in developing countries, and ways to empower women in the developing world!
A wonderful team of Co-editors and I worked on this VoxDevLit on the determinants of Women's Labor Force Participation. Information on the launch event is below.
📢 On Wednesday, February 28th, we are releasing Issue 1 of our new #VoxDevLit on Female Labour Force Participation.
This review summarises evidence on the barriers constraining women's labour supply in LMICs & the impacts of policies aiming to increase women’s labour supply.
I am looking for a full-time RA to help me to manage 2 large scale field experiments that I currently have ongoing or will have ongoing in #Bangladesh in the next several months. There will also be data cleaning and analysis in Stata. Apply: https://t.co/a4TXFhT88v. #EconTwitter
Realizing I need short videos to perk up my economics of gender undergrad class. 5 to 10 minutes ideal, though longer could work too. Any suggestions? Self promotion encouraged :)

Attention students: Jishnu Das and colleagues are doing a brief online survey we have developed for students to share their stories and experiences – both positive and negative – with the COVID-19 pandemic. link: https://t.co/HZJroWMnma.

COVID-19 management is a failure at the national level, but please do know that state, local, & institutional officials are working their tails off right now. At my shop, it's a 24/7 operation, with a command central, updates multiple times/ day & tremendously adaptive protocols.
I'm doubly biased because he's both my spouse and co-author, but applied micro-economists -- reach out to @tylermccormick if you have an interesting project that could benefit from collaboration with a statistician!
@FKondylis Thanks for a great framing and overview of recent work on sampled networks using household surveys (and flattered to have our work included)! @rachelmheath@emilybreza
A must-read by @Stanford undergrads Armelle Grondin & Ana Carolina Queiroz. They find the share of Black women is declining in their econ classes over time. And they ask why: https://t.co/XBhgHyjRwr. Kudos to them for raising the question & seeking answers like good economists!
I had to re-write the introduction to a paper, so I diagrammed the introductions of a bunch of development papers in top economics journals.
This is what I learned: "How to Write the Introduction of Your Development Economics Paper."

@a_peterman summarizes the qualitative companion paper to the Heath, Hidrobo and Roy JDE 2019 paper. It was wonderful to work on a quantitative project with a strong qualitative component, and I view @IFPRI (and collaborators) as a leader in this.
Hot-off-the press: @Shelleylees @Nambusi & @IFPRI @PIM_CGIAR colleagues [not on twitter] lift the curtain on #CashTransfers to men in #Mali 🇲🇱, exploring narratives around #gender & #IPV using qualitative methods THREAD 1/n👉🏽 https://t.co/4WBhH4OZ0m
