Standing Up for Our Homeless Community

Today, while visiting @Tesco , I stopped by the bargain shelves, as I often do, to see if there was anything we could purchase and freeze for the homeless individuals we support at our stations. To my surprise, I noticed that all the reduced produce was being removed from the shelves.

When I asked a staff member about it, she gave vague answers, eventually saying it might be for staff to take.
I expressed my concern, saying that while it's great for staff to benefit, shouldn’t those struggling the most, like our homeless community, also have access to these items? That’s when the conversation took a deeply upsetting turn.

The staff member made discriminatory remarks about homelessness, stereotyping individuals based on tattoos and smoking habits.

My face must have said it all, but I didn’t hold back. I told her straight: homelessness doesn’t define a person’s worth. Everyone deserves dignity and respect, and such remarks only deepen the stigma that so many of our community members face daily.
I did raise a verbal complaint with the management, although I’m not entirely confident it will be taken seriously. But one thing is certain—when it comes to discrimination against the community we support, I will always speak out. Everyone deserves compassion, not judgment.

@grahamjohnson10 @CommunityFibre Yes, I’m in S London area.. my router and system is showing as all good, but apps are slow to load, buffering, telling me I’m offline etc. if I persist, they will reload and work. It’s all very slow yet Speedtest etc is giving normal results. Tried restarting router etc.
