I’m ECSTATIC that my undergrad honors thesis has been published with @SpringerNature in @Mar_Biology! We used longnose lancetfish diets to reveal the role of gelatinous #cephalopods (e.g., squids and octopuses) in #deepsea food webs 🦑

@DocFroehlich Thank YOU for taking the time to share your science with us @Scripps_Ocean! It was an amazing talk :) Looking forward to seeing all the awesome and important work that comes from your lab in the future!
Had an AMAZING 2 weeks learning about stable isotopes at #Isocamp2023! Would highly recommend this short-course to folks using isotopes for their research. Somehow managed to work on a whale trophic ecology project while in the desert 🐋
As a cephalopod enthusiast, I was hoping our paper would be published during #Squidtember but better late than never! I am very excited that my first (first-author!) paper contributes to our understanding of my favorite group of animals! 🦑🐙

We collaborated with artist/scientist Alejandro Cano-Lasso Carretero to create the beautiful illustrations in our paper. He also took this great photo of me and Elan with a Grimalditeuthis from a lancetfish stomach! Check out @ doctorcato on Instagram for more of his amazing work
This #FieldworkFriday, we're taking a deeper look at a 16-day research expedition off Southern California led by Scripps biological oceanographer @anelachoy and her lab in the summer of 2021. 🌊🚢 #OceanScience

Distraction: Octopoteuthis deletron is a deep-sea #squid that, instead of hiding in the face of predators, lops off its own arms as a distraction! 🦑🪓 Scripps has one of these creatures in our Pelagic Invertebrate Collection; photos by Linsey Sala. (Underwater📸 by @MBARI_News)
#OTD in 2016, research vessel Sally Ride was commissioned by the @USNavy at Broadway Pier in San Diego. Joining Navy officials for the ceremony was Margaret Leinen @Leinen4ocean, director of @Scripps_Ocean, which operates R/V Sally Ride. https://t.co/AVVS7mpk2V #WomenInSTEM
