@ThomasJancis You're a cowboy like me
Perched in the dark
Telling all the rich folks anything they wanna hear
Like it could be love
I could be the way forward
Only if they pay for it
What's like that film/tv genre that's like coming of age but with thirty year olds instead of teens, whose lives are falling apart and then they are okay? That's my fav right now (for absolutely no reason) and I need recs. ✌️
@livwynter I have had one company book me walkable accommodation which has been helpful. But often I know the money isn't there and while I think the burden should shift to employer to help freelancers, it's not plausible for a lot of the struggling arts industry.
@livwynter Anxiety inducing because people are shoving each other onto trains and I'm seeing essentially like "road" rage and violence building in commuters. Feel frivolous to go through that for working in the entertainment industry.
@livwynter I support the strikes happening but also as a theatre designer can't move when or where my work happens. Often I'm waking up earlier and planning a three hour stressful, anxiety inducing commute or taking a cab at a price I can't afford.
When people call you a “snowflake” just remember they’re quoting Fight Club. A satire written by a gay man about how male fragility causes men to destroy themselves, resent society, and become radicalized…
British reality shows: here in a meadow, 12 jolly bakers compete to bake the tastiest sticky toffee pudding
American reality shows: if Bill can survive 10 days in the wilderness with nothing but some hotdogs and a gun, we promise to pay for his daughter’s insulin
“Holly and Phil jumped the queue to see the Queen’s coffin and as a monarchist I am very angry about the idea that somebody should enjoy unearned preferential treatment” -
