@DarrenTrain 🤣 I think that's probably true - but if he were Jared Kelenic that wouldn't be the case
politics/history also matters - i.e. potential chemistry problem to drop a star player to 7
also issues to cosider like OBP/Contact/SLG & protecting guys, that can influence order
@Vick2929@TridentTrue Generally speaking a team making a playoff push is not trading front line starting pitchers - even if both of them are producing more like a #2+ at the moment than the #1 they've been at times past
There are exceptions to every rule but I would not expect it here
@MarinerMenace That's true from perspective Ms are overloaded w/ 10 bats who should be starting v RHP-subject to caveat its likely 1+ may be injured
But still really need a righty bat to cover 3B + more (ideally 2B/SS/1B/RF/DH)
3B/1B may be fine w/ flexibility of others
Geno Suarez anybody?
@Detmich5550@beckjason He didn't aim at his shoulder - and you don't get to aim at the shoulder, either, if you're gonna hit somebody
This is the most obvious head hunting I can recall from a MLB pitcher
@Miggysbat@Gravel_sense LMAO. He threw at his head. Naylor adjusted and took it in the back.
If that hits below the helmet or on his face it could kill him
Pitcher deserves a suspension
@EmeraldYard3 There might be a greater chance of me hitting 5th than Colt Emeron hitting 5th
Regardless of his production he will be kept low in the lineup specifically to keep pressure off of him
@EmeraldYard3 For the most part, structure of these trades is kinda dumb/not thought through
For instance, if you trade for Alverez, LH bat must be traded (i.e. Dom)
Even if the Skubal trade were right on value, Ms aren't leaving Julio & Raley as only rostered OF in '27
@paultmcmillan@BrockHuard@JeffPassan@Mariners Anderson would be the highest rated prospect ever traded for a rental
0% chance of that happening. Sloan is a little more likely but not much - he still would reflect a historic return for a rental
@SeattleSports If the return is Ryan Sloan for 2 months of Skubal, it's a hard pass
If the deal looks more like Skubal + RP + Torres for Castillo, Arroyo, and Farmelo, I'd be on board
@DarrenTrain@RaiseTheTrident He actually continues to be good v LHP and terrible v RHP - which is actually more valuable than looking @ blended stats
And, do we care how he gets on base?
@dawg206 '26 sample is limited-thus it's hard to say how meaningful it is
TMobile has been consistent in being slighly better for lefties but still terrible for both
But absolutely makes sense to acquire hitters not impacted by TMobile
I'd also like to see some more park adjustments
@luke_arkins A few DH days for Randy and Julio would probably be the smart thing
Team is overloaded on OFers at the moment and has an OFer at DH most days
@AngryStatsGuy Free Agency after 3 years would be terrible for the game & terrible for the fans in particular
Discourages player development. Far fewer guys spend the major portion of their career with one team. Incentive to delay promotion only gets worse.
