@Inverse_Relate@TMade50@tagsalegirl@JudgeBobOrr Yet here I am, providing you with education for free.
The pic you supplied shows several different hand-gestures! They are all gestures - that does not make them the same gesture. Several hand-gestures can be categorized as "taunting" without them being "the same gesture".
@Inverse_Relate@TMade50@tagsalegirl@JudgeBobOrr Pointing out that a Norwegian has better reading comprehension than yourself is an interesting strategy.
I dont think it helps your argument, but it is certainly interesting
@Inverse_Relate@TMade50@tagsalegirl@JudgeBobOrr That does not say it was the same gesture. It says that he won hurdles while "flexing" to the camera, then after winning hurdles he walked backwards to the finish line again and celebrated with a team mate. Then at 100m he raised his hand?
Let’s talk about Khaled Daher.
A paramedic in Lebanon’s Civil Defence.
Not a fighter. Not a “target.”
A first responder who ran toward danger to save lives.
Two days ago, he was killed, along with two of his colleagues, when they were directly targeted while trying to rescue a civilian trapped under rubble.
But his story doesn’t start there.
Khaled wasn’t just a paramedic. He was the backbone of his family.
After his brother died in Bulgaria, he went searching for him, across borders & through uncertainty, until he finally located his grave & brought him back to Lebanon, where he laid him to rest.
He then became a father figure to his brother’s daughter, raising her as his own, carrying a responsibility that wasn’t his to bear, but one he chose anyway.
He was a son, a brother, a provider, a quiet pillar holding others up.
And in the end, he died the same way he lived, trying to save someone else.
Khaled Daher didn’t just lose his life.
His family lost their support.
People lost the man who showed up when everything else fell apart.
His niece has now lost both fathers.
Khaled spent his life saving others.
He was killed while doing exactly that.
This is what is being lost.
Over 103 medics and rescue workers have been killed since March 2.
Not numbers.
First responders.
Lives that held other lives together.
One killed journalist might be a tragic accident.
Two killed journalists are undeniable attempts to intimidate journalists and suppress freedom of press.
Over 260 dead journalists in 2.5 years is the works of the most ruthless terrorist organization in the history of the world.
This premeditated attack on journalists, carried out over multiple hours with medics and a huge part of the public begging Israel to stop, should really be enough to lock up Netanyahu for life. This is just blatant murder.
Israel killed two UNICEF drivers trying to get WATER to families in Gaza. Is this story going to get any coverage?
Or is the ongoing genocide not newsworthy?
This story is insane. The BBC just changed a direct quote — meaning one of them is a lie.
Consider the options: either the BBC lied that someone said they were happy for an atomic bomb to strike their city, or they softened that clearly psychopathic language but kept that quote in as if the source is credible.
Either the BBC is manufacturing consent to use atomic bombs, or they’re happy to platform someone else who did so.
No sane person says they’re OK being in the city an atomic bomb hits, obviously. That goes without saying. But the BBC thinks this is valid reporting.
Western media institutions like this deserve to die.
Just a few months ago, @ezraklein called on Democrats to abandon reproductive rights, @mattyglesias called for Democrats to join Republicans in bullying trans kids, and many more in the Vox/Faux DC Centrism orbit called on Democrats to acquiesce in Trump's mass deportation schemes in order to "do what's popular" and "win elections." Following these recommendations would certainly have made the Democratic Party “a little more hateful, a little more misogynistic, a little more vulgar, and a little dumber” — but no one who has clutched their pearls over Hasan Piker in the last two weeks ever voiced any concerns about these leading lights of DC centrism when they pushed these reactionary positions. What gives?
Considering @hasanthehun has never pushed the Democratic Party to adopt such wacko positions, he seems much better than Ezra Klein, Yglesias, and other Faux DC Centrists at keeping the Democratic Party "on the right side of history." I mean, if we win by throwing people under the bus as recommended by these amoral think-piece writers, would it even be worth it? What kind of victory would that even be?
- One bombed hospital might be a horrible mistake
- Two bombed hospitals are undeniably crimes against humanity
- More than a hundred bombed hospitals is the work of the most effective and barbaric terrorist organization the world has ever seen.
This is insane. Unnecessary and insane. Those tankers can be intercepted and captured or just left in place. To destroy them is to create massive environmental catastrophe. And for what? US and Israel are mad, rogue states.
The strategy of a “double-tap” strike, bombing first, waiting, and bombing again, is to kill survivors, rescuers, civilians and emergency medical workers. This is why the Geneva Conventions define this double-tapping as a potential war crime.
In the case of the school in Minab, the US in the second strike was killing parents in horror over the children being killed in a surprise attack and trying to find them.
This is the greatest number of civilians killed by the US military since the My Lai Massacre in the Vietnam War.
This strike on schoolgirls was perpetrated on the very first day of the war. When all strikes were meticulously planned in advance.
Spending 2.5 years crusading publicly against the very idea of international law and then posting something like this suggests something beyond normal hypocrisy. This is a mental disorder, a genuine inability to understand that both you and others are ultimately the same, and that laws and rules should be applied equally and fairly to all. They’re not just there to protect you when you want protection and to be ignored when you want to burn and flatten entire cities. How do you not get that?
