@PrachiP613@beh353 This is very important to remember. As we learned in a previous chapter, people tend to look at someone and based on how they look determine if they are healthy or not. We need to look deeper and help our patients be the best versions of themselves and not compare @beh353#beh353
As a future PA, an important take way from this class is understanding that every body is different. When it comes to nutrition and overall health. I’ve also learned that we should not restrict from our diet as it will create an unhealthy relationship with food @beh353#beh353
My sister and I just turned ours into banana bread! Growing up this was a go to in our household! Over the years we have tried to make our recipe healthier each time. We try added walnuts, almonds, cashews, and any other nut to add to our bread! @beh353#beh353
I don’t know how I missed this but I love to garden! Growing up with my grandparents who farmed back in India they loved to grow their own fruits and veggies. They taught my cousins and I how to properly garden and that’s something I’ll pass down to my kids! @beh353#beh353
@PhoebeSeto@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 This was such a great fact to learn! I feel like growing up I was told that I always need to eat fresh and organic foods to be able to get the proper nutrients but after watching the lecture I learned that it’s simple not true! #beh353@beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD I really enjoyed watching the lecture this week! I learned that as an aspiring healthcare professional it’s important to be able to collaborate with RDs as they can provide information to me that I may not be trained to know! #beh353@beh353
This recipe looks very easy and a healthy recipe to make! I love making healthy and new recipes for me and family to try! Definitely on my to do list for this week! @beh353#beh353
This #recipe for Crunchy-Munchie #TrailMix is easy to make and fun to eat. https://t.co/OpR6KvMtR4 One of many quick-and-easy sports foods in my #SportsNutritionGuidebook
@CarlySul12 @beh353 I read this article and it was a very good read! My cousin is pregnant and I forwarded this article to her! It was very easy to follow and I didn’t feel intimated with all the information! @beh353#beh353
I have included an article explaining the proper diet for a women to eat when pregnant. This source is from a reputable organization, easy to read and has a picture with a chart that can be useful! @beh353

This is my favorite time of year! I love going to the farmers market and being able to get fresh produce that goes directly to my dinner table! I even try growing vegetables in my personal garden! @beh353#beh353
@AkermanRochelle@beh353 This is a great way to start! Being able to see the patient as a human rather than what their looks and attributes might describe them to be is very important! @beh353#beh353
Based on the video, there was a women that stated that it was scary that medical professionals were not taking her seriously because of the way she looked. This was sad for me to hear because as a healthcare provider we should give the best care no matter what @beh353#beh353
Growing up my grandparents had a little farm in our backyard where they would grow fresh vegetables. When I was little it was so fun and rewording to watch a seed grow into a plant and bring us such nutritious vegetables to eat! @beh353#beh353
@PrachiP613@beh353 Hey prachi! I think education is so important when it comes to this. As James Corden mentioned in the video obesity can be genetic and people like Bill Maher are judging solely on someone’s looks which is not fair or nice. Education is essential! @beh353#beh353
After this weeks content a fact that I learned was obesity and poverty are directly linked. It’s not something I knew but now I have a better understand of it. I was really shocked by the words of Bill Maher. As James Corden mentioned fat shamming is bullying. @beh353#beh353
@HenryBonenfant@beh353 Hey Henry, I agree! Sometimes with school it just gets very hectic trying to cook healthy meals each night. I have been trying to implement meal preps since I can put time and effort into prepping my meals once a week! @beh353#beh353
I’ve been getting into working out recently. I have had this fear when it comes to the gym that I have to go everyday and I get very discouraged when I only got 1-2 times a week. I have been trying to stay consistent with my workouts! @beh353#beh353
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but exercising once a week is better than exercising zero times a week.
Seems silly, but many just think it’s pointless if they can’t exercise 3 or more times a week.
A barrier that I can relate to is unhealthy eating due to convenience. I know for me being a college student has been difficult and when I am tired from studying all day I’d rather go for a cheap and easy meal that I can make like frozen pizza. @beh353#beh353
This is something that I find really cool! Growing up, I was always told that fat is bad to have in your diet and it’s unhealthy but many people fail to understand that there are good fats such as the avocado! @beh353#beh353
Contrary to popular belief, not all fat is bad fat. There is good fat! That avocado that you ate on your toast this morning is a great source of monounsaturated fat, helping you combat the risk of developing heart disease!
