Very proud of now Dr. Thibaut Tabanou who successfully defended his PhD thesis today! 👨‍🎓👏
In his work, he characterized the radiosensibilizing potential of gold nanoparticles targeted to the mitochondria in prostate cancer cells.

🌐 Our PhD student Jade is attending the 17th International #Hibernation #Symposium in Canada.

Jade works on the Bear project 🐻 in collaboration with @INRAE_Clermont and @IPHC_Strasbourg, investigating how to transfer physiological properties of hibernating bears to human.

tldr; mtDNA mutations, found in ~50% of all cancers, are immunomodulatory - we can mimic the effect to make non-mtDNA mutant cancer sensitive to immunotherapy drugs.
