Sometimes the best trades are the ones that never happen.
After an entire summer of hearing @FCHWPO “value isn’t that high,” “nobody wants him,” “Clingan is too much to include,” and “the analytics say…”…
Imagine him walking back into Boston with every word remembered.
If he stays, all that doubt won’t disappear. It’ll be weaponized.
The NBA didn’t spend the summer evaluating Jaylen Brown.
It spent the summer creating the version that’s about to terrorize it.
May God have mercy on whoever’s standing in front of him.
@Brady12Clark He’s a bit of a risk, but I’d imagine you’d probably move on from either Sharpe, Scoot, or Jrue now that there are more rotation players than minutes available?!?
@zackocolipano Picks are valuable until they turn into players then the value of about half the picks depreciate at an alarming rate. I still think Clingan needs to be in the deal.
@RayvoneHackshaw No matter how it all turns out, good luck! I dislike how this CBA seems to punish teams that develop their own into All-NBA players by making it nearly impossible to keep them, like Boston and Denver have done.
I'm not an expert or insider, especially with the new cap, aprons, etc., but I keep hearing (from Boston's perspective) that after last year's roster deconstruction, it'll be the 2027 off-season when they have the means to compete and spend into the tax. I guess that's why younger players intrigue me. It seems impossible to have two max players, and if you're trading max contracts, why not just keep your own guys? I guess I just need convincing on how this helps either team. I firmly believe Brown is the much better player, but I don’t think he would work as well with Jokic. Another caveat outside of money is that Brown wants to be the number one, Denver is a place where that's not happening.
@UnSportsESPN@ChrisCanty99 it’s not disrespect it’s the reality of the new collecting bargaining agreement. The CBA is trash. It punishes organizations who developed their “homegrown talent”. Today it’s the Celtics, in the future, it will be OKC and San Antonio. It's the new CBA ruining rosters.
