@ourwildcats Thank you, my friend, for your kind words. All good - I’ve just reached a stage of disappointment with everything that’s been going on in the Mara, and I simply couldn’t anymore. I still check the reports from time to time, but that’s about it.
It never gets easier, especially when you’ve followed them for years.
Sad to hear about Lemoniko’s passing on Sunday, the last of the 5 Moniko/Sankai boys, and last son of Olope & Olbarikoi.
Lived and died the lion’s way, you're back with your brothers now. 🌈🦁

Marsh Pride-5/6 Marsh girls on the move with the youngest, Nusurika, leading the way😆.
At the back on the right is pride matriarch Kito!
When was Kito’s collar removed? I had no idea that happened...
In any case, happy 13th birthday to her🎂-born early Sept.2012.

@kkg108uk True, the 2 castaways were very close, but only one could ever hope return to the pride. Unfortunately I think he is gone, I have not sen any info on him for many months.
Marsh Pride – Nusurika
What a beautiful young lioness she has grown into!-turned 3 last month.
Such a hard life for her, but under Kito’s protection she fought for her place in the pride, just as her mother Lola once did under Rembo.
Half-Tail`s daughter 🦁💛

@loveellisSwiss The crossing bridge was flooded and waiting to be cleared, which is why so many people were there at the same time. The crossing at that spot was just an unexpected event, and tourists were immediately instructed to return to their cars.
@loveellisSwiss All that was just fake news and reposts for likes, which I hate the most. That is a designated rest area where tourists are allowed to step out of their cars and use the toilets that are built there.
@giraffegirl68@RegulaMaria Wish I were, but apparently for half a million $ you can just rent the Triangle for whatever, and right in the middle of the migrations.
@RegulaMaria Totally agree with everything you just said. It’s just corporate greed now, and it’s getting harder each day to follow the Mara. I might quit for good, it just seems like a lost cause...
@RegulaMaria By the way😂,did you hear they allowed a Bollywood movie to be filmed inside the Mara Triangle last month, with hundreds of people involved and stunt scenes like parachuting actors into the middle of migrating wildebeest herds 😂? Sorry for laughing, but it’s just...wtf
@RegulaMaria Oh, don’t get me started. Both Talek & Mara rivers are like natural barriers now, new luxury lodges at every crossing, maybe the worst migration ever this year.
@RegulaMaria So true! and the territories keep shrinking. If you ask someone from the Mara, they’d say the land is the same size. But no, it’s not. We keep building new things on it all the time: new camps, new lodges, new roads...they just get smaller every year.
