I’m so tired of these ngmi people reaching out to acquire my upcoming games

they all have the exact same pitch

“we are blah blah shitudio"

"we’re interested in your game"

"we can do this, we can do that”

you ask for the fucking stats of a brand-new game

stats are completely irrelevant at this stage (new games)

you either see the potential by playing it, or you don’t

there are no stats that would convince me to buy a game I don’t like or don’t see potential in

and there are no stats that would dissuade me from wanting to buy a game I do like and I do see potential in

statistics are relevant for established games

If I wanted to acquire Grow a Garden

I would definitely dive deep into all the metrics and statistics

but if I see an upcoming game and I like it

I wouldn’t give a shit about anything in the creator dashboard

the only message I’d send the owner would be:

Hi,

I want to buy your game

$10,000?

AND NOT

“Hey, I am the Head of Operations OF Chief CIEFEYHFAFExecutive OperatorING of this shit studio.”

Roblox has done what it has to do. The heat they were facing for child safety shortfalls would have lead to eventual takedowns / legal action. They had to pivot to keep the platform alive. Their stock suffered. They have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders to take measures for profitability. @haz3m_ has earned more than enough to pivot with the platform.

people are just looking for ways to hurt roblox's reputation. obviously on a platform where anyone can create anything, moderation cant find everything instantly

I would think adding more safeguards to discord would be more effective if all the groomers are trying to get kids over to Discord and do all their horrible things…

Why? Because Roblox has extremely harsh chat filtering as we all know that makes it really difficult to do anything nefarious, that’s why they’re trying to get them over to Discord… So doesn’t that make Discord the more dangerous platform??

Roblox do not have access to Discord’s data, how are they supposed to prove the validity of screenshots from another platform? If Roblox banned people the moment they see screenshots of people on other platforms, what stops me from photoshopping fake messages of someone on discord and sending it to Roblox to get them insta banned? See, it’s not that easy of a solution. The only ones who can verify it are discord themselves meaning they must also be held to account (which they currently are NOT)

So what more safeguards can we add to Roblox then to prevent grooming other than the extremely restrictive chat and why does Discord, where most of the grooming actually takes place, get a free pass from these reforms (who doesn’t have any kind of chat filtering for young kids).

And yes, of course we’d like speedier moderation for nsfw content on Roblox like condos and such. But groomers don’t need that content to operate so it wouldn’t stop them.

If other social media platforms used similar chat systems to Roblox, do you think groomers would be able to operate nearly as easily?

Trying to pin all blame on Roblox and chant for their death and destruction is very misguided. Haven’t seen one influencer talk about the role of discord, it really raises my eyebrows
