Elon Musk has attempted to close the issue with Starlink in Ukraine. But here is a tale in 7 tweets that suggests it’s far from closed. The throttling back of speed limits on Starlink terminals occurred around 14 October so let’s go back to then in his timeline. 🧵1/10
@elonmusk@GuntherEagleman You arrogant fucking assholes don't get to decide who is president of Ukraine. Ukraine chose and will do so again once martial law has lifted. Fuck off with this supercillious bullshit of speaking for/on behalf of Ukrainians who are more than capable of charting their own course!
72 defenders of Azovstal came home in the latest exchange.
But more than 500 Azov fighters still remain in russian captivity, and at least 3 Ukrainian POWs have died there this year.
Don't stop shouting about them. Don't let the world forget.
#FreeAzovstalDefenders
Today is the birthday of our defender, Sviatoslav Zdorovenko. Unfortunately, this is already his fifth birthday in captivity.
Sviatoslav’s loved ones are waiting for his return at home, holding on to faith that he will come back.
russian soldiers, like any other terrorists, had a choice not to take part in terror. Ukrainians had no choice about being invaded.
Yet somehow, @elonmusk , your sympathy is reserved for the Russian “kids” who came to kill, rather than the Ukrainian kids they came to kill.
What “poor Russian conscripts” is he talking about? The Russian soldiers fighting against Ukraine serve under official contracts and are paid for it. Their salaries are funded in part by the extra money Putin is receiving as a result of Trump’s recent decisions to waive some of the sanctions on Russia.
And now, something very important.
Russia pretends to be “great,” yet it is a very poor country. Its entire economy is comparable in size to that of the U.S. state of Texas. Millions of Russians live in economically depressed regions. For them, signing a contract with the Russian army is often the only realistic path to social advancement, because it lets them earn the kind of money they could only have dreamed of in their impoverished home regions.
The families of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine are perfectly satisfied. They receive sums of money that their husbands or sons could never have earned, even if they had worked for the rest of their lives.
That’s why our Russian human rights colleagues call this kind of economy a “necronomy,” meaning a “death economy.” Russia sells death. Literally.
Yes, this bloody war must be stopped. And to stop it, we must make the cost of war for Putin higher than the cost of peace.
So if Musk truly cares about the lives of Russian soldiers, America must break the Russian necronomy’s ability to fuel this bloody war. But the Trump administration has done exactly the opposite. America has begun to finance it.
I am attaching to this post just a few examples of Russian state advertising, showing the amounts in rubles for which “Russian kids” go to kill Ukrainians.
Attention!
Friends, we have two small but urgent requests from two different units defending the skies over southern Ukraine.
They urgently need:

“On Feb. 5, 2025, her first day in office, Attorney General Pam Bondi disbanded the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, dismantled the department’s unit pursuing Russian oligarchs’ assets, and narrowed enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. CISA paused its election security work, abandoned the information sharing center that connected it to state and local election officials, and by mid-2025 had lost more than a third of its workforce. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard gutted the Foreign Malign Influence Center, the State Department closed its office for countering foreign disinformation, and National Security Council working groups on Russian sabotage and disinformation stopped meeting.
The next target was the people. In August 2025, Gabbard revoked the security clearances of 37 current and former officials, among them a senior Russia analyst who helped produce the 2017 assessment, citing the “politicization or weaponization of intelligence.” Comey was indicted on Sept. 25, 2025, over his 2020 Senate testimony, five days after Trump publicly demanded his prosecution. A judge dismissed the case, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is currently hearing the department’s appeal. CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred former Director Brennan for prosecution for alleged perjury in his congressional testimony, and Brennan has been subpoenaed to appear at a Florida grand jury examining whether officials who investigated Trump conspired against him.
The purge also reached below the senior level, and analysts who worked on the 2017 assessment also had their clearances stripped. The FBI forced out a veteran counterintelligence agent over his ties to an official in the original Russia investigation, and dozens of FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors were fired or demoted for work investigating Trump or Russia.”
A mother in Chernihiv meets the young man who shared captivity with her son.
Her boy was exchanged in 2024. This friend is an orphan — no relatives left. But in Russian captivity he became her son’s protector and brother.
Now he’s family. 💔🇺🇦
My mentions, nonstop for the last 90 minutes or so in response to a single post criticizing Elon Musk for the Starlink/Starshield Ukraine mess. This is such bullshit. The bots are out of control. I may have to stop responding to anyone that I don't already follow.
💔 Russian authorities took 10-year-old Sofiia from Donetsk Oblast to Russia after her family was killed, placing her under the guardianship of a Russian man she had never met, Ukrainian human rights advocate Oleksandra Dvoretska reported on Oct. 22

The Ukrainian desire to fight the Russian invasion is not driven by Zelenskyy or "elites" or anyone in the West. It's driven by regular people who understand that Russia is evil, and that Russia has been trying to reincorporate Ukraine since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
When the Russians advanced towards Kyiv they were met with heavy resistance from the same people that Putin thought, foolishly, would welcome his army with open arms.
An organized disinformation campaign about Ukraine's Starlink access has dropped on Twitter.
The richest man in the world needs bots and paid trolls for validation.
In today’s Vatnik Soup, our 400th (!), we introduce the Vatnik Archetype: the recurring character who claims to oppose war while defending invasions, claims to fight imperialism while serving Moscow, and claims to seek truth while repeating the vilest propaganda.

Interesting how all the pro Russia bots laid the groundwork for the Starlink hack narrative literally hours before Elmo posts the same story trying shift blame on Ukraine. He is literally running Russian psyops on his platform
Everyone, everyone, every living soul, especially those who die beneath the rubble of their homes in Russian bombardments and those who fight to the last drop of blood to defend their country and loved ones, is a warmonger with no realistic plan to end the conflict.
But never Russia, and never Vladimir Putin. No, he's a humanitarian, a pursuer of peace, and the greatest champion of American farmers.
