Jason Schreier confirms that there is no "case by case" basis when it comes to PlayStation single player games and exclusivity. Sony's single player first party games will not be releasing on PC.
Capcom Made Nearly Twice As Much Money on Steam Than PlayStation Last Year
PC gaming is eating console's lunch. Capcom's latest fiscal report shows Steam brought in over $252M, nearly double the $129M from PlayStation.
Sony’s reported decision to slow PC releases could affect more than just Western PC gamers. It could also hurt the company’s presence in China, the world’s biggest gaming market.
China is mainly a PC and mobile gaming market, where most gamers play on PC rather than consoles.
If Sony stops bringing major single-player games to PC, it may become harder to reach those players. Many Chinese gamers are unlikely to buy a PS5 just for a few exclusives.
A smaller PC presence could also weaken Sony’s ties with Chinese game developers.
Programs like the China Hero Project have supported local studios and strengthened PlayStation’s influence in the region.
