@Vote4Russell Traffic was actually horrible during that time period. It usually took me three times as long in the evenings to leave work downtown and get back to Cowan Heights area. Tried a few different routes and they were all super congested.
@StephStJohns Same. And I feel like I’m way more relatable/approachable when I’m wearing jeans and casual dresses than corporate business attire, particularly because of the population we work with who struggle to make ends meet.
@mynlcorner So many. ICDIWABH could have been my theme song last year and resonated in so many ways of being a parent and being in my profession where I need to be so regulated and mask even when I’m dying inside.
@drewfoundland Congrats! I’m glad you took the deep dive and made the decision to go down this path. I’ll look forward to having you in this profession
@rlegrow Wow, seeing the breakdown is huge. I worked in the HVGB office. 8 scwk positions vacant and there might only be 10 positions total if that. And 3/4 support staff vacant.
@sewistwrites@smalltown_wife There are soft padded options available which are a lot safer than then hard plastic ones. Lots of others have suggested but Safe in The Seat on Instragram is truly a life-saver.
@rlegrow @rawstefc Yup, the amount of money I was able to approve as a front line in care worker to support kids in foster home was atrocious. If that money had been redirected to the parents and my time redirected to helping the family I can’t help but think of the different outcomes
@LukeQuinton There’s an intersection on Water and Cochrane that’s also a hard intersection. Stopping before the crosswalk in a vehicle, it’s nearly impossible to see oncoming traffic. And then to be able to see you’re out in the middle of the crosswalk making it hard for pedestrians
@cadwell_erica Could be the humidity? Also have you used clarifying shampoo on your scalp/hair recently? If there’s a lot of build up of product it’s going to be heavier and less likely to hold anything
@rlegrow@mynlcorner@DaraMBarrett Would you be looking for a more peer based group? Or led by therapists/counsellors with or without lived experience? Or a skills based group specific to bipolar?
@JEKeep The struggle is real for trying to meet people. There’s so much time and energy invested and strategic planning around dates to try to see what someone is like in various settings.
