Can dancing actually help reduce stress?
In this conversation, I’m talking with @tootsieolan, choreographer, dancer, yoga teacher, creator of danceFLOORED, retreat producer, and mom of three, about the way movement can support both the mind and body.
Your hair might be one of the first places stress starts to show up.
Save this for the next time you catch yourself blaming your hair before asking what your body may be trying to tell you.

If you are always answering, planning, helping, fixing, or anticipating what someone else may need next, stillness can feel strange at first. Even on a walk, a hike, or a quiet summer afternoon, your mind may keep trying to pull you back into responsibility.
Summer can look restful from the outside, but still take a lot from the body. So this may be a good time to check in with yourself. What do you want to carry into the rest of the season, and what are you ready to loosen your grip on?

Sometimes our bodies give us small signals before we fully realize what we have been carrying.
What is your current “wait, is this normal?” health question?
#hairshedding#stressawareness#womenshealth
There are days when stress does not need a perfect answer right away.
Our bodies often settle through small moments of safety and connection. This is one of mine.

Constantly making yourself smaller can create resentment, anxiety, and exhaustion. Peace does not always come from having no needs. Sometimes it comes from being honest about them.

The first person to notice I was stressed was not my therapist or my doctor. It was my hairstylist.
Save this if your hair has been shedding more lately, because stress can show up in the body before we fully realize how much we are carrying

When your mind starts filling in the blanks with the worst-case scenario, pause and ask:
What else could be true here?
Sometimes stress narrows our perspective, and a simple reframe can help us find a little more room.
We call it rest, but we're still replying. Still keeping one tab of our brain open for everyone else.
Your nervous system needs moments where nothing is asking for a response.
Be somewhere your inbox is not.

When panic or overwhelm starts to rise, it can feel like your body is demanding an immediate response. Your heart may race, your breathing may change, and everything can start to feel more urgent than it really is.
#panicattacktools#emotionalregulation
This is why capacity matters. Your calendar may have an opening, but that does not always mean your nervous system does.
You are allowed to say no, leave early, simplify the plan, or choose rest without waiting until you are already past your limit.
#boundariesarehealthy
If you notice yourself feeling more reactive, restless, anxious, tired, or like every small thing requires more effort than usual, it may be worth pausing before you push through the next task.
