Last month, BBC reported that GOSH, a research hospital in the UK, base edited the genome of a 12-year-old girl, Alyssa, suffering from leukemia. She had failed dozens of therapies and had no more options. Seven months later, she is cancer- free. Not many investors know about it.
Microsoft is planning to use ChatGPT to power Bing, and plans to launch it in a couple of months.

Proud of this, pleasure to work with Aster, CARPL on this high impact collaboration. Could change how data would be shared for AI, research, collaborations, etc. potentially across geographies as well.

Good thread to highlight that people should never let their vigil down. This disease is like the shark which has just gone out to the sea. It will come back if people drop their vigil.
We can compare the UK experience to other similar countries to understand the role of public health rules in limiting disease.
Here I choose the Netherlands for comparison since it is close geographically, has similar vaccine rates, and had an initial Delta surge of similar size
Refuting the NYT/WSJ article by calling them BS even before the arguments are presented tells the BS going around in all media. Mainstream media has trust deficit. No one will cry if social media is regulated given the drivel that is elevated to one's TL. Hope both see the light.
1/Here's my take on the recent Facebook scandal involving research into the psychological effects of teens using Instagram.
Once again, I'll be fighting Brandolini’s Law “The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude larger than to produce it.”
Role "trust" plays in a society is best exemplified during a pandemic. Very nice summary of the same from Denmark. Comparison with a fellow Scandinavian country, Sweden, underlines how trust varies with situations. Wonderful read.
Today, Denmark lifted all restrictions & COVID-19 is no longer deemed a "societal threat".
I led the country's largest behavioral covid-project (@HopeProject_dk) & advised the Danish gov.
Here are my thoughts on how DK got here, what can be learned & what lies ahead.

In 2018, when we first started talking about using computer vision & AI for "reducing accidents & saving lives on Indian roads", it was a distant dream. Tireless work has been happening at Intel, GoI and Industry towards realizing that vision.
@INDOUSSTF team would like to thank the moderators and panelists of the 5th and final #roundtable on #trustworthyAI titled 'Federated Learning and Computational Trust' for shedding light on the broad societal and technical challenges that would arise in Federated Learning. #USIAI
