The truth is somewhere in the middle @arampell. Technology was largely stagnant outside of software for quite a long time and this is terrible. We need progress.

But you can also argue that Steve Jobs would not have liked how the modern IPhone is mostly being used (short form video, endlessly scrolling feeds). And most people are cut off from the economic benefits of technology companies as they stay private forever.
