Students finding it hard to study for NEET PG after INICET, give this a read. Written by my consultant at AIIMS!
(P. S. He has gotten >1k students out of their academic slumps- some even got up and cleared steps during their postgrad🫣)

19.06.2017 allotted AIIMS, New Delhi in PG counselling.
15.06.2026 joined main Deptt. Psych, AIIMS ND as Assist. Prof (previously at CAPFIMS Campus).
From a trainee to faculty in the same dept.
What a roller-coaster journey it has been! 🧿😬 #medX
@DhruvMundhraYT No, AIIMS doesn’t “sponsor” anything.
But yes, AIIMS do have Travel award which is given to selected candidates based on certain set of criterias, most imp of which is quality of presentation.
Additionally ICMR, DST, DBT and CSIR have their respective travel grants.
A year ago, I was walking the streets of Singapore wondering whether I should quit #MRCPsych#CASC and recover whatever refund money I could.
Then came a reminder: After a decade in #psychiatry, the exam wasn’t about pass/fail but about trusting what the journey had taught me.
Tip 5️⃣: Read widely and communicate often.
Books helped me improve my language and expression. Videos helped me observe different communication styles.
There is no perfect strategy.
Trust your preparation, stay consistent, and give your best.
Picture this!
You go to a well known private practitioner of your area (who is NOT a psychiatrist) because you are having free floating generalised 24*7 anxiety and palpitations for a while now, and after paying Rs. 1800/- for the consult, you get:
1) ZERO lab tests done (could it be a sign of vitamin deficiencies? Could it be your malfunctioning thyroid? Could it be anemia? ECG? You are a woman afterall! It could very well be all of the above!)
2)Tab. Risperidone 2mg HS
3) Tab. Amisulpride 100mg HS
4) Tab. Clonazepam 0.5mg HS
5) Tab. Sodium Valproate 500mg BD
And on the day you start these medicines (all together, MIND YOU!), you feel dizzy and fall in the metro!
(None of these medications were needed for this patient. And the medication and therapy that WAS needed was never started)
Your own perceptions about why you should NOT go to a psychiatrist is only going to hurt you, not a psychiatrist (we have a population of 148 crores, afterall)
You would be SHOCKED to learn how many in-laws forcefully bring their daughter in-laws to psychiatry OPD to get them diagnosed with one or the other thing, and more often than not- the daughter in-laws do NOT have any diagnosable mental illness.
Twice this has happened- that the law has followed up for documents of said daughter in-laws after their demise- as the in-laws suggested she was mentally ill. (When infact- she was distressed due to THEM).
Make of it what you want to. 👍
@thenerdnxtdoor2 For somebody who has been in Delhi:
AIIMS D >> NIMHANS >>>>>>
Heavily biased, of course
Delhi specific, AIIMS D >> IHBAS (used to be extremely toxic, dont know current status) > RML>LHMC> UCMS (if you are getting mamc, change state or take a drop)
