Case narrated by a nephrologist friend (not naming)

A middle age affluent person with ANCA vasculitis with rising creatinine (kidney) did not want to take best standard of care that is Rituximab / cyclophosphamide.

Reason : I don’t want to take toxic injections. Some doctor bend to her will and gave her inferior treatment.

Outcome : Patient had more kidney worsening and lung hemorrhage and now on death bed. Unlikely to survive.

This is everyday in India.
