Today more than ever, it is essential to remember that one can be against a hateful regime, as is the case with the Iranian regime, as is the whole of Spanish society, and at the same time be against an unjustified, dangerous military intervention outside of international law.

That one must be against a war initiated without the authorization of the United States Congress or the United Nations Security Council and, as I have said before, one that violates international law.

And that there is always room for a negotiated solution, instead of being dragged along by the devastation of arms as the only possible way out.

Therefore, I would like once again, as we have done since the beginning, to appeal for immediate de-escalation, for full respect for international law in all the conflicts we are unfortunately suffering, and for the urgency of resuming dialogue as soon as possible.

That is where Spain will be, and that is where I believe the whole of the European Union should be.

On October 17, 1920, the Communist Party of India was formed by a group of anti-imperialist revolutionaries. Coming from different backgrounds, they were united in the idea of getting rid of the hated British rule over India and were all inspired by the October Revolution of 1917 that had established the first ever workers’ state in the world. Their aim was to free India from British rule and to work towards the establishment of a socialist society in India, free from class exploitation and social oppression.

A protest was held at Jagadamba Junction in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday by the Left parties demanding an end to the dismissal of contract workers in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

#cpim Visakhapatnam District Secretary M. Jaggunaidu said that the BJP government at the Centre was in the process of dismissing 5,600 contract workers with about 3,000 already having lost their jobs. He said the many of these workers had been with the plant for decades and their families would be in dire straits if they were dismissed. He criticised the TDP, Janasena Party, and the BJP which ahead of the elections had vowed to protect the steel plant, and asked them to keep their promise. @apcpim #vizagsteelplant

CPI(ML) strongly condemns the cold-blooded extra-judicial killing of the General Secretary of CPI(Maoist) Comrade Keshav Rao and other Maoist activists and Adivasis in Narayanpur-Bijapur.

From the celebratory post of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, it is clear that the state is spearheading Operation Kagar as an extra-judicial extermination campaign and taking credit for killing citizens and suppressing Adivasi protests against corporate plunder and militarisation in the name of combating Maoism.

We appeal to all justice-loving Indians to insist on a judicial probe into the massacre and demand an immediate end to the military operation, especially when the Maoists have declared a unilateral ceasefire.
