42% men took loans for divorce: Says a recent Survey

Divorce is not just an emotional upheaval, it’s also a financial storm that many underestimate. A recent survey by 1 Finance Magazine sheds light on how deeply separation impacts men’s finances in India.

According to the study, 49% of men reported spending over ₹5 lakh on divorce, compared to just 19% of women.

What is even more striking is that 42% of men had to take loans to pay alimony or cover legal costs, and nearly 29% reported a negative net worth after settlement.

On average, 38% of a man’s annual income went towards maintenance.

Marriage often begins with hope for a lifetime partnership. But when it breaks down, it doesn’t just leave behind emotional scars, it creates a long shadow of financial stress. The findings of this survey raise serious questions about the economic burden of divorce, particularly on men, and the need for a more balanced framework that ensures fairness for both spouses.

While emotional recovery is vital, financial recovery is equally critical, yet rarely discussed.

Do not buy from @OnePlus_IN store.
you buy TV installation is more than week. Ordered TV on 10th October. they say "I would request you to wait as it was created on 14th. And the engineer was assigned on 16th as only after 24-48 hours of creating the request it is processed.
