The twitter account for Bedford Rail Campaigners.
Campaigning for better train services for Bedford, better trains, a better station & better station access.
We've got chances 2 improve Bedford sta, & so get better train services from Leic & 2 London. V. important 2 not miss oppo. EastWest Rail would link Bedford 2 Ox & Camb but shouldn't put over 60 homes at risk of demolition in Bedford. Please sign petition: https://t.co/7YgzVefeKp
@Golcarbob1 @BedfordGreens Bedford station is losing its intercity trains this weekend very largely because it was built for cross-platform interchanges, that required intercity trains to cross to the slow lines, adding a lot to their journey times.
@Golcarbob1 @BedfordGreens I wonder if confusion was sown by advice re "cross-platform interchanges". Cross-platform interchanges mean going from one train to another without using stairs (or lift).
Vital to success in local authority climate action is staff and councillor training. So it's wonderful that @Carbon_Literacy has FREE toolkits for all staff, for leaders and for councillors. Does YOUR council have a training plan in place? https://t.co/skRhhckrSR
@Green_NewDealUK Meanwhile, #Bedford is suffering the pain of electrification to make our train service WORSE, because #failingGrayling doesn't want to pay for electrification 2 get as far as Leicester, even: so electric trains will stop in Northants rather than anywhere with network connections.
My first vote was in the European election in 1989. I voted Green, and there was a Green Wave then, too. 30 years on, Greens are needed more than ever #EUelections2019#greenwave#ClimateEmergency
@theblakeroberts@EastGreenParty On Wednesday she joined us in a protest against #BedfordStation losing its services to/from the north. Then had a Loooong journey back to Norwich via London. It would have been quicker to go direct Bedford-Brussels 💚
