Dear Sir, Madam
Why can’t Mumbai think of such solar panels on our water reservoirs.
It was stop evaporation and generate solar energy as well. Double benefit.
One time investment.
We need innovative solutions for Mumbai
Sir/Madam
Can we accelerate the desalination plant work at Manori on a war footing 24x7 to make the plant ready to use by October or December 2026?
Govt is dead late, people should not suffer due to bureaucratic delays or red tape
Stop Flyover roads work
Focus on desalination

Subject: Urgent Need for a Long-Term Water Security Strategy for Mumbai
Honourable Chief Minister and BMC Commissioner,
As Mumbai faces the prospect of another year of below-normal rainfall due to El Niño conditions,

24x7 work on desalination plan at Manori required. Better late than never. Clear all administrative hurdles. Bad days ahead for Mumbaikars because of lack of vision of this government. Stop flyover work and construction work.
Maharashtra has woken up too late to desalination in Manori. That too has not begun full fledged
It should have started 5 or 3 years back, the plant would be ready by now.
Everyone will suffer now

Mumbai can function with traffic congestion. It can function with power shortages. A megacity of over 20 million people cannot function for long without reliable drinking water. Water security is ultimately the foundation on which all other infrastructure depends.

Daily traffic jam eating up 30 mins
Sir
We leave home early only to get stuck outside gate for 30 mins daily.
Reason- Narrow road , cars, auto, NMMC buses, tankers, people walking etc
Why can’t police deploy 2 constables outside from 9 to 10am
@Navimumpolice

Auto Rickshaw Goonda-giri seen on roads seen. They create traffic jams & block passage for private cars bikes
Traffic police - NO ACTION.
Only promises
No traffic constable seen today to manage traffic chaos and confusion

A resilient city is not defined by the number of flyovers it builds, but by its ability to guarantee its citizens the essentials of life starting with water.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Mumbaikar

End
Diversification of water sources to reduce dependence on monsoon rainfall.
Mumbai deserves a visionary water strategy that looks beyond the next monsoon and safeguards the city’s future for generations to come.

We urge the Government of Maharashtra and BMC to present a clear long-term roadmap for Mumbai’s water security, including:
●Large-scale desalination projects.
●Reduction of transmission losses and leakages.
●Recycling and reuse of treated wastewater.

If severe water shortages become a recurring reality, industries will suffer, businesses will be affected, residents may eventually be forced to consider relocating from the city. In such a scenario, even the most modern metro networks flyovers will serve limited purpose

Mumbai, surrounded by the Arabian Sea, appears to have made little progress in creating a large-scale desalination ecosystem despite decades of warnings about future water stress.
The question many citizens are asking is:

climate change, and recurring drought conditions.
Cities across the world, including Singapore, Dubai, and several coastal regions, have invested heavily in desalination plants to ensure a reliable and drought-proof water supply.
4/n
if the city does not have sufficient water for its people?
Water is not a luxury—it is the most basic requirement for human life, public health, and economic activity. Mumbai’s dependence on monsoon-fed reservoirs makes the city highly vulnerable to rainfall variability,
3/n
many citizens are deeply concerned about the city’s long-term water security.
While significant investments continue to be made in metros, coastal roads, bridges, flyovers, one fundamental question remains unanswered: What is the value of world-class infrastructure if the
